There is no change at the top of the French albums chart this week, indeed “NRJ Summer Hits Only 2012” is number one for the fourth consecutive week (17012 sales, -4%). Will it equal the five-week reign of “NRJ Summer Hits Only 2011” next week ? Place your bets.
Compilations lead the albums chart (three of them in the top 4 !), but the highest new entry at 2 is an artist album by Keen’V with “La Vie Est Belle” with 14821 sales. It’s his second top 10 album, after “Carpe Diem” which was number 9 in July 2011.
So, there are three compilations in the top 4, and one of them is a new entry at number 3 with “Zumba Fitness Dance Party 2012” with 12734 sales. As a consequence, “M6 Hits Eté 2012” is down two places at 4 in its second week in the top 10 (12673 sales, +13%).
Sexion D’Assaut are also down two places at number 5 with “L’Apogée” in their 21st week in the top 5 (8118 sales, -9%), “L’Ecole Des Points Vitaux” had also spent 21 weeks in the top 10 from April to August 2010.
Shy’m is out of the top 5 for the first time, as “Caméléon” is down two places at 6 in its 5th week in the top 10 (6059 sales, -10%). Now “Caméléon” is her most successful album if we count the weeks spent in the top 10, “Mes Fantaisies” was in it for 4 weeks in January and February 2007 (peak position : number 6), “Reflets” for two weeks in October 2008 (peak position : number 4), and “Prendre L’Air” for one week in June 2010 (peak position : number 6).
Adele spends her 75th consecutive week in the top 10, as “21” doesn’t move at number 7 (5866 sales, +4%). Fourth and last compilation in the top 10, “Le Son Dancefloor Volume 2” is down three places at 8 in its second week in the chart (5466 sales, -13%). There is no move at 9 for Birdy with “Birdy” in her 10th week in the top 10 (4584 sales, -10%), and “Voyage En France” is down four places at 10 for Les Stentors in its 11th week in the top 10 (4432 sales, -27%).
There is a new entry at 12 for Jennifer Lopez with “Dance Again… The Hits” with 3702 sales. She had four top 10 albums in France : “J.Lo” (number 6 in January 2001, 3 weeks in the top 10), “This Is Me…Then” (number 4 in November 2002, 1 week in the top 10), “Rebirth” (number 7 in February 2005, 2 weeks in the top 10), and her last album “Love ?” (number 7 in May 2011, 1 week in the top 10).
All Amy Winehouse‘s albums are up the chart this week (it has been one year since she sadly passed away), as “Back To Black” is up 14 places at 15 (3091 sales), “Frank” climbs from 97 to number 53, and “Lioness : Hidden Treasures” is up a massive 111 places at number 63.
We can notice the nice return of Kassav’, indeed “Le Meilleur De Kassav'” is up a massive 18 places from 38 to 20 in its second week in the chart. They have been very popular in the 1980s, as their song ” Sye Bwa” was number 19 in May 1988 in the singles chart. The last time Kassav’ were in the top 20 albums was… in July 1995 when “Dife” peaked at number 20.
