Week Ending 28th October 2012 / Singles Chart

PSY‘s “Gangnam Style” is at the top of the French singles chart for the second week  in its fifth week in the top 10 (12445 sales, +2%). But PSY‘s biggest threat for this week’s chart was not Mylène Farmer, but Adele. As the movie impacts, “Skyfall” reaches its peak position, climbing three places at number two in its fourth week in the top 10 (12367 sales). A former number one, Rihanna‘s “Diamonds” falls one place at three in its fifth week in the top 10 (10595 sales, -8%).

So this week Mylène Farmer didn’t get the 300th number one of the French singles chart, her 13th chart-topper, but “A L’Ombre” is her 24th top five hit, entering at number four (8875 sales), it’s taken from her forthcoming album “Monkey Me” which will be released on 3rd December.

In their sixth week in the top 10, Asaf Avidan & The Mojos are down two at number five with “One Day / Reckoning Song” (8593 sales, +9%). “She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)” is also down two places at six for David Guetta featuring Sia in its 10th week in the top 10.

As you can find it at only 0.69 euros on iTunes, “We Are Young” gets its peak position, climbing one place at seven for fun. featuring Janelle Monáe in its fourth week in the top 10 (5048 sales). C2C‘s “Down The Road” falls two this week at eight in its eighth week in the top 10.

Flo Rida gets his seventh top 10 hit, as “I Cry” is up two places at nine in its ninth week in the chart. He reached number two with “Right Round” (featuring Ke$ha) in April 2009, and with “Whistle” in June. “Coups Et Blessures” is back in the top 10 for BB Brunes, as the song is back up three at number ten in its second week in the top 10, it was also at ten four weeks ago.

Three songs drop out of the top 10 this week. “Pursuit Of Happiness” falls four at 11 for Kid Cudi featuring MGMT and Ratatat, it reached number two and spent eight weeks in the top 10. Alex Clare is also down four at number 13 with “Too Close” after three weeks in the top 10. After a massive 26 weeks in the top 10, Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” falls five places at 15, the song was at the top for eleven non-consecutive weeks.

“One More Night” is up six at number 14 for Maroon 5 in its 11th week in the chart (3202 sales, +22%). Birdy climbs three places at 16 with “People Help The People” in her 19th week in the top 200.

“Girl On Fire” is up a massive 23 places at number 18 for Alicia Keys featuring Nicki Minaj in its eighth week in the chart, it’s Alicia Keys‘ seventh top 20 hit, and the sixth for Nicki Minaj. “Avec Toi” is new in the top 20, as it’s up three at number 20 for Axel Tony featuring Tunisiano in its seventh week in the top 200.

“Nightcall” is back up 43 places at 30 for Kavinsky in its 56th week in the chart, the song reached number ten in February. One Direction‘s “Live While We’re Young” climbs 13 at number 31 in its fourth week in the top 200 (1786 sales).

Emeli Sandé gets her second top 40 hit, as “Read All About It (Pt. III)” climbs 38 places at number 33 in its ninth week in the chart (1753 sales), “Next To Me” was number 18 in July. Ne-Yo is up 11 at number 35 with “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)” in his seventh week in the top 200. In his fourth week in the chart, Bruno Mars is up a massive 57 places at 59 with “Locked Out Of Heaven”.

Nolwenn Leroy has the second highest entry of the week, as “Juste Pour Me Souvenir” is new at 71 (923 sales), Pascal Obispo enters at number 74 with “Tu M’Avais Dit” (876 sales).

Week Ending 21st October 2012 / Albums Chart

Muse‘s “The 2nd Law” spends a third consecutive week at the top of the French albums chart (19227 sales, -32%), the album has sold 137434 copies so far. It’s also a very good week for Sexion D’Assaut, indeed “L’Apogée” is up four places at number two in its 31st week in the top 10 (9077 sales, +35%). We can explain this climb by the fact that you could find the album at 4.99 euros on iTunes last week (4720 digital sales).

There is no move at number three for Garou‘s “Rhythm And Blues” in its fourth week in the top 10 (7666 sales, +3%). In its second week on the chart, “NRJ Total Hits 2012 Vol. 2” falls two places at four (7061 sales, -36%). C2C‘s “Tetra” is down one place at number five (5462 sales, -23%), it has sold 70478 copies in its seven weeks in the top 10.

“Opéra Rouge” is also down one at number six for Vincent Niclo & Les Choeurs De L’Armée Rouge in its fourth week in the top 10 (5125 sales, -26%). A compilation is the highest new entry in this week’s chart, “Starfloor 2013” is new at number seven (5044 sales).

In her third week in the top 10, Diana Krall falls one place at number eight with “Glad Rag Doll” (4905 sales, -9%), the album has sold 19708 copies so far. Lou Doillon‘s “Places” is down one at nine in its seventh week in the top 10. After an 11-week absence, Birdy is back in the top 10, as “Birdy” is up six places at number ten in its 11th week in the top 10 (3961 sales).

Two albums drop out of the top 10 this week. Adele‘s “21” is down one at number 11, the album has sold around 1315000 copies in its 91 weeks on the chart. After five weeks in the top 10, Marc Lavoine falls three places at 12 with “Je Descends Du Singe”.

There is a new entry at 16 for Raggasonic with “Raggasonic 3”. After having been deleted for three weeks, Baptiste Giabiconi‘s “Oxygen” is a re-entry at number 21 (2577 sales), as the album is now available in the shops. “Monster” enters at 26 for Kiss who had reached number 31 with “Sonic Boom” in October 2009.

“The Haunted Man” is new at number 31 and is also the first top 50 album for Bat For Lashes (1924 sales), “Two Suns” was number 56 in April 2009. Véronique Jannot enters the albums chart at 38 with “Tout Doux” (1660 sales). fun.‘s “Some Nights” gets its peak position this week, as it’s up a massive 84 places at number 42 in its 14th week in the top 200.

Placido Domingo enters at 51 with “Songs”, there is also a new entry at number 52 for Sophie Hunger with “The Danger Of Light” (1245 sales). Donald Fagen is new at 85 with “Sunken Codos”, he reached number 145 in March 2006 with “Morph The Cat”.

Week Ending 21st October 2012 / Singles Chart

Sooner or later, it was inevitable… So “Gangnam Style” is the new best-selling song in France. In his fourth week in the top 10, PSY is up one place to reach the top spot (12204 sales, +18%). “Gangnam Style” is the 299th number one of the French singles chart (it was created on 4th November 1984), who will be the 300th ? Mylène Farmer‘s new song ? Stay tuned.

After three consecutive weeks at the top, Rihanna‘s “Diamonds” is down to number two (11516 sales, -10%). It’s a very good week for Asaf Avidan & The Mojos, as they climb one place at number three with “One Day / Reckoning Song” in their fifth week in the top 10 (7871 sales, +4%).

“She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)” is back at its peak position, it’s up two at number four for David Guetta featuring Sia in its ninth week in the top 10 (6788 sales, -2%). Adele spends her third week in the top 10, falling two places at five with “Skyfall”.

“Down The Road” falls one at number six for C2C in its seventh week in the top 10, the song reached the top spot four weeks ago. “Pursuit Of Happiness” doesn’t move at seven for Kid Cudi featuring MGMT and Ratatat in its eighth week in the top 10.

In its 31st week on the chart, “We Are Young” is back in the top 10, as it’s up a massive 12 places to reach its peak position, at number eight for fun. featuring Janelle Monáe. The song has already spent two weeks in the top 10, at number ten in July.

There is no move at nine for Alex Clare, “Too Close” spends its third week in the top 10. Maybe the last week in the top 10 for “Call Me Maybe” ? Indeed, Carly Rae Jepsen is down two places at ten in her 26th consecutive week in the top 10.

One song drops out of the top 10 this week. After six weeks in the top 10, “Good Time” falls two places at 12 for Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen.

The highest new entry is at 14 for M. Pokora and Tal with “Envole-Moi” (2966 sales), it’s the first song taken from the album “Génération Goldman” which will be released on 19th November, it consists on Jean-Jacques Goldman‘s songs sung by artists such as Amel Bent, Shy’m, Christophe Willem… Jean-Jacques Goldman‘s “Envole-Moi” was released in 1984.

“People Help The People” is the second top 20 hit for Birdy, as it’s up five places at number 19 in its 18th week on the chart (2712 sales), “Skinny Love” reached number two in June. Maroon 5‘s “One More Night” is up ten at number 20 in its 10th week in the top 200 (2633 sales), it’s the fourth top 20 hit for Maroon 5, after “This Love” (number six in September 2004), “Moves Like Jagger” (featuring Christina Aguilera, number three in September 2011), and “Payphone” (featuring Wiz Khalifa, number eight in August).

Axel Tony is up three at 23 with “Avec Toi” in his sixth week on the chart. It’s a good week for Shy’m, as “On Se Fout De Nous” climbs eight places at 24 in its ninth week in the top 200 (2072 sales). Emmanuel Moire falls four places at 25 with “Sois Tranquille” in his second week on the chart (2071 sales, -17%). “Turn Up The Love” is up 12 places at 26 for Far*East Movement featuring Cover Drive in its seventh week on the chart.

Jenifer‘s “L’Amour & Moi” equals its peak position, as it climbs 16 places at number 27 in its fifth week in the top 50 (2008 sales). “One By One” is up eight at 34 for Laza Morgan featuring Mavado in its 11th week on the chart. The second new entry is for Patrick Bruel‘s “Lequel De Nous” at number 35, it’s the first song taken from his new album also titled “Lequel De Nous” which will be released on 26th November.

“Girl On Fire” reaches its best position this week, as it climbs four places at 41 for Alicia Keys featuring Nicki Minaj in its seventh week on the chart. “Live While We’re Young” is up 13 at number 44 for One Direction, the song reached number 20 as a new entry two weeks ago. In its seventh week on the chart, “Summer Jam”  enters the top 50, as it’s up a massive 57 places at 45 for R.I.O. featuring U-Jean. The EP “B3” is a new entry at number 53 for Placebo.

In its second week in the top 200, “Beauty And A Beat” climbs 73 places at number 54 for Justin Bieber featuring Nicki Minaj. There are also very big climbs for Robbie Williams‘ “Candy” which is up 100 at number 65 in its fifth week on the chart, and “Read All About It (Pt. III)” is up 85 places at 71 for Emeli Sandé in its eighth week in the top 200.

This week’s number one in the UK, “Sweet Nothing” is new at 133 for Calvin Harris featuring Florence Welch, “Leaving” is also new at number 139 for the Pet Shop Boys.

No, there won’t be a new entry at the top of the albums chart for the seventh week in a row, as Muse‘s “The 2nd Law” stays at number one in its second week in the top 10 (28334 sales, -68%). It’s the first time that a Muse album is at the top for two weeks, indeed “Absolution” (in September 2003) and “The Resistance” (in September 2009) only had one week at the top.

There is only one new entry in this week’s top 10, and its… a compilation. “NRJ Total Hits 2012 Vol. 2” goes straight to number two with 11008 sales. Garou‘s “Rhythm And Blues” is down one place at three (7454 sales, -26%), the album has sold 29979 copies in its three weeks in the top 10.

C2C‘s “Tetra” doesn’t move at number four in its sixth week in the top 10 (7104 sales, -22%), “Tetra” has sold 65016 copies so far. There is no move also at five for Vincent Niclo & Les Choeurs De L’Armée Rouge with “Opéra Rouge” in their third week in the top 10 (6957 sales, -23%).

“L’Apogée” spends a 30th non-consecutive week in the top 10 for Sexion D’Assaut, as the album is up one place at number six (6739 sales, -2%). In her second week in the top 10, Diana Krall falls four places at seven with “Glad Rag Doll” (5376 sales, -43%).

Lou Doillon‘s debut album “Places” is up two at number eight (4650 sales, -25%), the album has sold 52503 copies in its six weeks in the top 10. Marc Lavoine falls one at nine with “Je Descends Du Singe” in his fifth week in the top 10 (4641 sales, -31%), the album has sold 55495 copies so far. Adele‘s “21” spends its 83rd week in the top 10, as it’s up six places at number 10 (4405 sales, +7%).

Two albums drop out of the top 10 this week. After three weeks in the top 10, “NRJ 200% Hits 2012 Vol. 2” falls five places at number 11. Mika‘s “The Origin Of Love” spent only three weeks in the top 10, as it’s down four at number 13 (4099 sales, -38%), the album has sold 47326 copies so far.

The second new entry of the week is for La Compagnie Créole, their new album “En Bonne Compagnie” enters the chart at number 14 with 4057 sales. Zifou is also new at number 24 with “Zifou 2 Dingue”.

“Sounds That Can’t Be Made” is new at 41 for Marillion. There is also a new entry for Of Monsters And Men, “My Head Is An Animal” is at number 58. Beth Hart goes straight to number 60 with “Bang Bang Boom Boom”.

Ellie Goulding enters the chart at a low number 85 with “Halcyon” (819 sales), but it’s not so bad as her debut album “Lights” hasn’t even reached the top 200.

PSY gets closer and closer to the number one spot, but Rihanna‘ s “Diamonds” is at the top of the French singles chart for the third consecutive week (12805 sales, +6%). “Diamonds” has sold 37116 copies so far. So PSY climbs two places at two with “Gangnam Style” in his third week in the top 10 (10364 sales, +41%).

In her first full week sales, Adele stays at number three with “Skyfall” in her second week in the top 10 (9240 sales, +10%). Asaf Avidan & The Mojos get their peak position this week, as “One Day / Reckoning Song” is up three places at number four in its fourth week in the top 10 (7551 sales).

Number one three weeks ago, C2C‘s “Down The Road” falls three at number five in its sixth week in the top 10 (7397 sales, -26%). In its eighth week in the top 10, “She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)” climbs two places at six for David Guetta featuring Sia and registers its best-sales week (6953 sales, +25%).

“Pursuit Of Happiness” is down one at seven for Kid Cudi featuring MGMT and Ratatat in its seventh week in the top 10. Carly Rae Jepsen falls three places at eight with “Call Me Maybe” in her 25th week in the top 10 (5074 sales, -16%).

Alex Clare gets his highest charting position, as “Too Close” is up one place at number nine in its second week in the top 10. “Good Time” falls one at number ten in its sixth week in the top 10 for Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen.

In its 14th week in the top 10, “M’En Aller” is up six places at number 12 for Canardo featuring Tal (3351 sales). BB Brunes are back up four at 13 with “Coups Et Blessures” in their 16th week in the top 10.

Emmanuel Moire gets the highest new entry of the week at 21 with “Sois Tranquille”. Emmanuel Moire is a contestant on the TV show “Danse Avec Les Stars”, and he danced on his own song which is about his brother who passed away in January 2009. That show was broadcast last Saturday, and with only one day of sales after the show, “Sois Tranquille” sold 2487 copies. Will it be his fifth top hit, after “Etre A La Hauteur” (number nine in December 2004), “Je Fais De Toi Mon Essentiel” (number three in April and May 2005), “Le Sourire” (number seven in December 2006), and “Adulte & Sexy” (number nine in May 2009) ? Place your bets.

In her 17th week in the chart, Birdy is up two at number 24 with “People Help The People”, she’s also back up two at 25 with “Skinny Love”. Axel Tony is still climbing up the chart, as “Avec Toi” is up a massive 18 places at number 26 in its fifth week in the chart. “Balader” climbs nine at 27 for Sexion D’Assaut in its 20th week in the top 200.

Ellie Goulding‘s “Lights” climbs three at 29 in its 11th week in the chart. “One More Night” is up eight places at 30 for Maroon 5 in its ninth week in the top 200. Crystal Fighters are up nine at number 31 with “Follow” in their fourth week in the chart. “On Se Fout De Nous” gets its peak position, as Shy’m is up five places at 32 in her eighth week in the top 200.

“Turn Up The Love” is new in the top 40, as it climbs 11 places at 38 for Far*East Movement featuring Cover Drive in its sixth week in the chart. “On Donne Ça” is up 27 places at 39 for Zifou featuring Léa Castel in its second week in the top 200.

“Anti Hero (Le Saut De L’Ange)” climbs a massive 58 places at number 41 for Marlon Roudette featuring Lala Joy in its third week in the top 200. Marlon Roudette reached number 14 in January and February with “New Age”.

“Doom And Gloom” is a new entry at number 44 for The Rolling Stones. They only had one top 20 hit, with “Plundered My Soul” which was number 15 in April 2010. You have to know that the French singles chart was only created in November 1984.

Week Ending 7th October 2012 / Albums Chart

There are big news in this week’s albums chart, as we have a big seller at the top, and last week’s number one has been excluded from the chart. First, the story about Baptiste Giabiconi, his album “Oxygen” debuted at number one last week with 21149 sales, and only 130 of them were digital ones. Why ? You can find the album at 9.99 euros on iTunes, but you can also find the physical format at only 6 euros for three weeks on a particular website (vente-privee.com). So the SNEP (Syndicat National de l’Edition Phonographique) has decided to delete “Oxygen” from the album chart, it will be back in the chart when it is available in the shops. The album would have fallen to number two this week (13575 sales, -36%).

So we have a big seller, as Muse‘s new album “The 2nd Law” enters at the top with a massive 89873 sales. Only Les Enfoirés sold more copies (137730, with “Le Bal Des Enfoirés 2012”) in their first week in the chart this year. It’s Muse‘s third number one album, after “Absolution” (for one week in September 2003) and “The Resistance” (for one week in September 2009). Garou stays at number two with “Rhythm And Blues” in his second week in the top 10 (10016 sales, -20%).

Diana Krall gets her fourth top five album, as “Glad Rag Doll” is new at number three (9427 sales). She reached the top five with “The Look Of Love” (number five in September 2001), “The Girl In The Other Room” (number two in April 2004), and “Quiet Nights” (number three in April 2009).

In its fifth week in the top 10, C2C‘s “Tetra” is up two at number four (9072 sales, -2%). Vincent Niclo & Les Choeurs De L’Armée Rouge fall one place at five with “Opéra Rouge” in their second week in the top 10 (9025 sales, -8%).

The only compilation in the top 10, “NRJ 200% Hits 2012 Vol. 2” is up one place at six in its third week in the top 10. “L’Apogée” is back in the top 10 for Sexion D’Assaut, as it climbs eight places at number seven in its 29th week in the top 10 (6886 sales).

In his fourth week in the top 10, Marc Lavoine is down three at number eight with “Je Descends Du Singe” (6688 sales, -28%). Mika falls six places at nine with “The Origin Of Love” in his third week in the top 10 (6600 sales, -40%), the album has sold 43227 copies so far. Lou Doillon‘s “Places” is down one at number ten in its fifth week in the top 10 (6179 sales, -27%).

Three albums drop out of the top 10 this week. After two weeks in the top 10, P!nk‘s “The Truth About Love” falls three at number 11. Last week’s new entry, “Long Courrier” is down eight places at 18 for BB Brunes. And of course, Baptiste Giabiconi.

In her 36th week in the chart, Lana Del Rey climbs 13 places at number 13 with “Born To Die” (5105 sales), the album was at the top for two weeks in February. Adele‘s “21” is back in the top 20, as it’s up six at 16 in its 89th week in the chart (4136 sales). Birdy‘s eponymous album climbs seven at number 21, the album reached number five in June.

“Caméléon” is up five at number 24 for Shy’m in its 15th week in the top 200, the album was number one for a week in July. It’s not a good week for Green Day, as “¡Uno!” falls 15 places at 27 in its second week in the chart.

Mireille Mathieu is new at number 29 with “Mireille Mathieu Chante Piaf”, she was number 16 with her eponymous album in October 2005. Lianne La Havas is also new at number 96 with “Is Your Love Big Enough ?”.

Week Ending 7th October 2012 / Singles Chart

There is no change this week at the top of the French singles chart, as Rihanna is still number one with “Diamonds” in her second week in the top 10 (12073 sales, -1%). C2C‘s “Down The Road” doesn’t move at number two in its fifth week in the top 10 (10053 sales, -2%).

In this week’s chart, the most interesting thing was to know where Adele‘s new song “Skyfall” would be charted. In only three days (as sales are counted from Monday to Sunday in France), Adele enters at three with 8376 sales, and “Skyfall” is her fourth top 10 hit, after “Rolling In The Deep” (number three in April 2011), “Someone Like You” (number one for four weeks from October to December 2011), and “Set Fire To The Rain” (number nine in September 2011 and March 2012 !).

“Gangnam Style” is still climbing the chart, as PSY is up two places at four in his second week in the top 10 (7357 sales, +47%). In her 23rd consecutive week in the top five (and 24th consecutive in the top 10), Carly Rae Jepsen slips only one place at five with “Call Me Maybe” (6075 sales, -14%).

“Pursuit Of Happiness” is down three at number six for Kid Cudi featuring MGMT and Ratatat in its sixth week in the top 10 (5857 sales, -17%). It’s also a bad week for Asaf Avidan & The Mojos, as “One Day / Reckoning Song” falls two places at seven in its third week in the top 10.

“She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)” is back up one place at number eight for David Guetta featuring Sia in its seventh week in the top 10 (5582 sales, +15%). In its fifth week in the top 10, “Good Time” falls two at number nine for Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen. Alex Clare is new this week in the top 10, as “Too Close” is up two places at ten in its 11th week in the chart.

Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. Number one for two weeks in August, Alex Ferrari is down four at number 12 with “Bara Bará Bere Berê” after nine weeks in the top 10. “Coups Et Blessures” falls seven places at 17 for BB Brunes after just one week in the top 10.

Will Flo Rida get a seventh top 10 hit soon ? Indeed, “I Cry” has reached its peak position, as it’s up four at number 11 in its sixth week in the chart. Muse‘s “Madness” equals its peak position reached as a new entry six weeks ago, the song climbs two places at 14 (3538 sales). “M’En Aller” is also up two at number 18 for Canardo featuring Tal in its 13th week in the chart.

It’s surprisingly the first top 20 hit for One Direction, as they enter at 20 with “Live While We’re Young” (2879 sales). “What Makes You Beautiful” only reached number 39 in March. But “Live While We’re Young” only enters at 38 in the downloads, it gets its top 20 position in the combined singles chart thanks to the 1174 physical sales.

It’s a very good week for Birdy, as “People Help The People” is up a massive 18 places at 26 in its 16th week in the chart (2304 sales). “Lights” climbs three at number 32 for Ellie Goulding in its 10th week in the top 200.

The third new entry in this week’s chart is for Johnny Hallyday at number 34 with “L’Attente” (1912 sales). “Balader” is the fourth top 40 hit taken from Sexion D’Assaut‘s album “L’Apogée”, as it’s up 17 at number 36. The first three singles (“Avant Qu’Elle Parte”, “Ma Direction”, and “Wati House”) all reached the top five.

“One More Night” climbs 13 places at number 38 for Maroon 5 (1751 sales), it’s their sixth top 40 hit. “Follow” is up 14 at number 40 for Crystal Fighters in its third week in the chart. Axel Tony is new in the top 50, as “Avec Toi” is up 19 places at number 44 in its fourth week in the top 200. It’s a bad week for Jenifer, her “L’Amour & Moi” falls 16 at number 45 in its third week in the chart (1515 sales, -26%).

Ne-Yo gets his sixth top 50 hit, indeed “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)” climbs 19 places at number 47 in its fourth week in the top 200. “Turn Up The Love” also enters the top 50, as it’s up nine at 49 for Far*East Movement featuring Cover Drive in its fifth week in the chart. Taylor Swift is up a massive 21 places at 68 with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” in her eighth week in the chart. Taylor Swift‘s “Red” is also new at number 103.

“Locked Out Of Heaven” is new at number 85 for Bruno Mars, will it be his third top 10 hit after “Grenade” (number seven in February and March 2011) and “Young, Wild & Free” (as a featured artist with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa, number six in January) ?

Week Ending 30th September 2012 / Albums Chart

For the fifth week in a row, we have a new entry at the top of the French albums chart, and this week the number one is quite surprising, it’s the debut album “Oxygen” from a 22 year-old French model, Baptiste Giabiconi (21149 sales). Like Grégoire before him, he used the record company My Major Company. He needed 200000 euros to release his album, and in three months, My Major Company incredibly collected 280176 euros from his fans, and now he has a number one album.

There is also a new entry at number two with Garou‘s new album called “Rhythm And Blues” (12509 sales). He had two number one albums with “Seul” (for five weeks from January to March 2001), and “Garou” (for two weeks in June 2006), but his last album “Version Intégrale” only reached number 33 in December 2010. We can explain his new album’s success by the fact that it’s an album of covers (less risky), and he has been the coach in the French version of the TV show “The Voice”.

Last week’s number one, Mika‘s “The Origin Of Love” is down to three in its second week in the top 10 (10925 sales, -57%). Another album of covers is very successful, as “Opéra Rouge” climbs a massive 179 places at number four for Vincent Niclo & Les Choeurs De L’Armée Rouge (9791 sales). A former number one, Marc Lavoine is back up one place at five with “Je Descends Du Singe” in his third week in the top 10 (9288 sales, -15%), the album has sold 44166 copies so far.

“Tetra” is up three at number six for C2C (9242 sales, +5%). In its four weeks in the top 10, “Tetra” has sold 48840 copies. There is no change at seven for the only remaining compilation in the top 10, “NRJ 200% Hits 2012 Vol. 2”. In her second week in the top 10, P!nk falls four places at eight with “The Truth About Love” (8841 sales, -50%).

Lou Doillon is down one at number nine with “Places” (8430 sales, -9%). There is a third new entry in this week’s top 10, as BB Brunes are new with “Long Courrier” (8333 sales). It’s their second top 10 album, after “Blonde Comme Moi” which was number eight in June 2008.

Four albums drop out of the top 10 this week. In their 14th week in the chart, Chico & The Gypsies are down three places at 13 with “Chico & The Gypsies… & Friends”. Jenifer is down 11 at number 14 with “L’Amour Et Moi” in her second week in the chart (6505 sales, -64%). “Messina” is down 14 places at number 16 for Saez. It’s also a bad second week for Michael Jackson‘s “Bad 25” which is down 19 places at 24 (3986 sales, -67%).

It’s not a fifth top 10 album for Sinik, as “La Plume Et Le Poignard” is new at 11. His last album “L’Assassin – Le Côté Malsain” reached number eight in June 2011. There is a new entry at 12 for Green Day with “¡Uno!”, it’s a bit disappointing as they were at the top for one week in May 2009 with “21st Century Breakdown”. “Mission” is new at 20 for I Barocchisti.

Les Stentors are up a massive 34 places at 23 with “Voyage En France”, the album was number one for three weeks in May and June. Dany Brillant is new at a low number 25 with “Viens A Saint-Germain”, his last album “Puerto Rico” reached number two in October 2009. Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Kiss” is down 13 places at number 27 in its second week in the chart (3723 sales, -42%).

“Push And Shove” is new at 33 for No Doubt. It’s their third top 40 album, after “Tragic Kingdom” (number 14 in May 1997), and “Return Of Saturn” (number 21 in April 2000), “Rock Steady” only reached number 79 in March 2003. “> Album Title Goes Here <“ is the first charting album for deadmau5, as it enters at number 51.

Number one in the UK and the US with very huge sales, “Babel” only enters the French albums chart at number 67 for Mumford & Sons. But we can explain that by the fact that “Sigh No More”‘s peak position was only number 173 (!) in April 2010. In its second week in the chart, “Battle Born” is down 50 places at 79 for The Killers.

Week Ending 30th September 2012 / Singles Chart

For the first time since December 2011 and Shakira with “Je L’Aime A Mourir”, we have a brand new entry at the top of the French singles chart, and it’s a fourth number one for Rihanna with “Diamonds”, after “Don’t Stop The Music” (for two weeks in October and November 2007), “Man Down” (for five weeks in July and August 2011), and “We Found Love” (featuring Calvin Harris, for five weeks in October and November 2011). Moreover her sales figures (12238) are the highest for the best-selling song since the week ending 29th April when “Somebody That I Used To Know” registered its fifth consecutive week at the top for Gotye featuring Kimbra with 12949 sales. And the song was only released on Wednesday afternoon !

Last week’s number one, “Down The Road” is at 2 for C2C in its fourth week in the top 10, but with higher sales figures (10272 sales, +29%). It’s the first time the top 2 songs have sold more than 10000 sales since the week ending 10th June, when Gusttavo Lima‘s “Balada” was at the top with 11057 sales, and Birdy‘s “Skinny Love” was at 2 with 10577.

There is no move at three for Kid Cudi featuring MGMT and Ratatat with “Pursuit Of Happiness” in their fifth week in the top 10 (7045 sales, -8%). In its 23rd week in the top 10, “Call Me Maybe” is down two at number four for Carly Rae Jepsen (7040 sales, -12%).

Next are two future contenders for the top spot, first Asaf Avidan & The Mojos are up three places at five with “One Day / Reckoning Song” in their second week in the top 10 (5616 sales, +33%), then PSY enters the top 10, as “Gangnam Style” is up 12 places in its fourth week in the chart (4990 sales, +79%).

It’s a bad week for Carly Rae Jepsen, her “Good Time” (with Owl City) falls three places at seven in its fourth week in the top 10. A former number one, “Bara Bará Bere Berê” is down three at number eight for Alex Ferrari in its ninth week in the top 10. “She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)” is also down three places at nine for David Guetta featuring Sia in its sixth week in the top 10 (4847 sales, -9%). “She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)” has sold 27336 copies so far.

In its 14th week in the chart, “Coups Et Blessures” enters the top 10, as it’s up 12 places at number 10 for BB Brunes (4787 sales, +96%). It’s their first top 10 hit, “Lalalove You” was close though, as it reached number 11 in January and February 2010.

Three songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After nine weeks in the top 10, “This Is Love” falls four places at 11 for will.i.am featuring Eva Simons (4358 sales). Khaled is down five at number 14 with “C’Est La Vie”, the song spent three weeks in the top 10. Last week’s highest new entry at 10, Booba‘s “Caramel” is now at number 17 (3439 sales, -16%).

In its 39th (!) week in the top 200, “Stand On The Word” is up a massive 26 places at number 18 for Keedz, the song reached number 12 in June. “M’En Aller” is new in the top 20, as it’s up six at number 20 for Canardo featuring Tal in its 12th week in the chart, it’s the second top 20 hit for Tal after “Le Sens De La Vie” which was number four in March and April.

“Co-Pilot” climbs five places at number 27 for Kristina Maria featuring Corneille in its 15th week in the top 200. In its 42nd (!) week in the chart, “Baby I’m Yours” finally enters the top 30, as it’s up 19 at number 28 for Breakbot featuring Irfane. It’s a very good week for Ellie Goulding, indeed her “Lights” climbs 20 places at 35 in its ninth week in the top 200 (1804 sales).

In its second week in the chart, Lana Del Rey‘s “Blue Velvet” is up 40 places at 40 (1636 sales), it’s her fourth top 40 hit after “Blue Jeans” (number 16 in November 2011), “Video Games” (number two in March), and “Born To Die” (number 13 in February). “Girl On Fire” climbs 18 at number 43 for Alicia Keys featuring Nicki Minaj in its fourth week in the chart.

“Balader” is up 15 places at number 53 for Sexion D’Assaut in its 18th week in the chart. “Follow” is up a massive 146 places at number 54 for Crystal Fighters in its second week in the top 200. It’s a good week for Far*East Movement featuring Cover Drive as “Turn Up The Love” climbs 12 places at 58 in its fourth week in the chart.

A former number one in the UK, Ne-Yo is up 27 at number 66 with “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)” in his third week in the chart. Taylor Swift‘s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is slowly climbing up the chart, as it’s up 15 places this week at number 89.

Ke$ha‘s new song, “Die Young” is new at number 100, she was number one for two weeks in February 2010 with “TiK ToK”. It’s a bad week for Christina Aguilera, as “Your Body” is down 37 at number 121 in its second week in the top 200 (500 sales, -39%).
