It’s the seventh consecutive week we can see a compilation at the top of the French albums chart (in comparison with eight last summer), and this week the best-selling one is “Zumba Fitness Dance Party 2012” which is back up one place (it was at the top two weeks ago) in its fourth week in the top 10 with 14411 sales (+5%). It has sold 59777 copies so far. In its third week in the top 10, “NRJ Extravadance 2012 Vol. 2” is down one place with 9663 sales (-31%).
It’s a good week for Sexion D’Assaut, “L’Apogée” is the best-selling artist album this week, climbing three places at number 3 in its 24th consecutive week in the top 10 (8722 sales, -6%). A former number one (for 4 weeks in July and August), “NRJ Summer Hits Only 2012” is down one place at 4 with 8037 sales (-32%). In its seven weeks in the top 10, it has sold 117751 copies.
Keen’ V spends his fourth week in the top 5 with “La Vie Est Belle”, the album is down a place at 5 with 8005 sales (-31%). There is another compilation at 6, “M6 Hits Eté 2012” is down a place in its fifth week in the top 10 (6704 sales, -37%).
Chico & The Gypsies get their peak position this week with “Chico & The Gypsies… & Friends”, as they are up three places at number 7 in their third week in the top 10 (5676 sales, +26%). Adele spends her 78th consecutive week in the top 10 with “21”, and the album is down a place this week at 8 with 5598 sales (-0.3%).
The highest new entry of the week is… a compilation (sigh), “100 Hits Eté 2012” enters the chart at number 9 with 4641 sales. There are six compilations in the top 10 this week, as “Skyrock 2012 Vol. 3” is up one place at 10 in its second week in the chart.
Two albums are out of the top 10, Shy’m is down three places at 12 with “Caméléon” after seven weeks in the top 10, and “Tubes Eté 2012” is down 7 places at 15 in its second week in the chart.
“Anastasis” is a new entry at number 13 for Dead Can Dance, the last time they appeared in the top 50 was with the album “Spiritchaser” which was number 15 in June 1996. Elvis Presley sadly passed away 35 years ago, and he’s new at 16 with a new best-of, “Elvis – La Collection RTL” with 2691 sales.
We can also notice the new entry at 39 of “A Symphony Of British Music -Music For The Closing Ceremony Of London 2012 Olympic Games”, “Isles Of Wonder – Music For The Opening Ceremony Of London 2012 Olympic Games” only spent two weeks in the top 200, peaking at number 160 three weeks ago. It may be a consequence of their performance during the closing ceremony, One Direction are up 10 places at 37 with “Up All Night” in their 28th week in the chart, they peaked at number 15 in February. Emeli Sandé has also a good week, she is up 17 places at 43 with “Our Version Of Events”.
Another interesting climb this week is that “The Very Best Of Shaggy / Chaka Demus & Pliers / Aswad” is up a massive 26 places at number 36 in its second week.
