Only four compilations are in this week’s albums chart top 10 (from last week’s six), but they are all in the top 6. “Zumba Fitness Dance Party 2012” is still at the top for a third non-consecutive week in its 5th week in the top 10 (15757 sales, +9%). Sexion D’Assaut have a very good week, indeed “L’Apogée” is up one place at 2 in its 25th consecutive week in the top 6 (8560 sales, -2%). We can notice the very big gap between the two best-selling albums of the week, “L’Apogée”‘s sales only represent 54% of the number one album.
A former number one 2 weeks ago, “NRJ Extravadance 2012 Vol. 2” is down a place at 3 in its fourth week in the top 10 (8294 sales, -14%). Keen’V is still in the top five for the 5th consecutive week, as “La Vie Est Belle” is back up a place at number 4 (6983 sales, -13%). The album has sold 54122 copies so far.
The other compilations in the top 10 are “M6 Hits Eté 2012” which is back up a place at 5 in its 6th week in the top 10 (6297 sales, -6%), and “NRJ Summer Hits Only 2012” which falls two places at number 6 in its eighth week in the top 10 (6216 sales, -23%).
Chico & The Gypsies don’t move at 7 with “Chico & The Gypsies… & Friends” in their fourth week in the top 10 (5806 sales, +2%). Adele is not in this week’s US Top 10, but she stays at 8 in France with “21” and it’s her 79th consecutive week in the top 10 (5467 sales, -2%) !
As you can find “Born To Die” for 9.99 €, Lana Del Rey is back up 19 places at number 9 in her 17th week in the top 10 (4329 sales). She topped the albums chart for two weeks in February. After only a one week absence, Shy’m spends her 8th week in the top 10, as “Caméléon” is up two at number 10 (4102 sales).
Amy Winehouse re-enters the chart at 20 with “Lioness : Hidden Treasures”, the album spent three consecutive weeks at number 2 in December 2011.
The highest new entry of the week is for Bloc Party with “Four” at number 21. It’s their fourth top 30 album, as “Silent Alarm” reached number 14 in February 2005, “A Weekend In The City” number 10 in February 2007, and “Intimacy” number 22 in November 2008.
Nossa‘s debut album “Nossa” is a new entry at 24, their song “Mas Que Nada” climbs a massive 31 places at 62 (its peak position) in its fourth week in the singles chart. There is also a new entry at 55 for Lynyrd Skynyrd with “Last Of A Dyin’ Breed”.
Number one in the US this week, Trey Songz only enters at number 64 with “Chapter V” which is though a major improvement in comparison with his last album “Passion, Pain & Pleasure” which was only number 138 in September 2010. Frank Ocean‘s “Channel Orange” got its physical release, so it re-enters the chart at 67, higher than the number 91 it reached in the week ending 15th July with downloads only.
The Darkness are new at 107 with “Hot Cakes”, they have never been successful in France, as “Permission To Land” reached only number 62 in February 2004, and “One Way Ticket To Hell” was at 132 in December 2005. Owl City‘s “The Midsummer Station” enters at number 192 with 368 sales only, he reached number 88 with “Ocean Eyes” in April 2010.
