In her 20th week in the top 10, Carly Rae Jepsen spends a 10th non-consecutive week at the top of the French singles chart with “Call Me Maybe” (9132 sales, +5%), it’s her best sales figures since the week ending 8th July. It’s also her 10th week at number one which is a best for 2012, beating the nine weeks spent at the top by Michel Teló with “Ai Se Eu Te Pego”, and Gotye featuring Kimbra with “Somebody That I Used To Know”. To see a song which spent more than ten weeks at number one, you have to go back to René La Taupe (!) who was there for 13 consecutive weeks with “Mignon Mignon” from September to November 2010.
There is no change at number two for Alex Ferrari in his sixth week in the top 10 with “Bara Bará Bere Berê” (7958 sales, only 16 more than last week !). He is now threatened by the rise at 3 of “Pursuit Of Happiness” which is up one place for Kid Cudi featuring MGMT and Ratatat in its second week in the top 10 (7293 sales, +52%).
As he has released his new album and the video for “C’est La Vie”, Khaled is up a massive 19 places at number 4 in his ninth week in the chart (6221 sales). “C’est La Vie” is his third top 5 hit, after “Aïcha” (number one for a week in October 1996) and “Même Pas Fatigué !!!” (with Magic System, number one for seven weeks from April to June 2009). It’s down two at number 5 for “This Is Love” by will.i.am featuring Eva Simons in its seventh week in the top 10 (5938 sales, only 24 fewer than last week !).
In its 33th (!) week in the chart, C2C‘s “Down The Road” has finally reached the top 10, up 18 places at 6 (4501 sales). Before this week’s chart, its peak position was number 18 in the week ending 15th July. But I have better news for them in the albums chart… “She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)” is back up two places at 7 for David Guetta featuring Sia in its third week in the top 10 (4433 sales, +25%).
Like “Down The Road”, M83‘s “Midnight City” is new in the top 10 after 32 weeks spent in the chart, indeed it’s up 11 at number 8 (4311 sales). “Midnight City” peaked at number 12 in the week ending 17th June, when “Call Me Maybe” spent its first week at the top ! In her 18th consecutive week in the top 10, Birdy is down three at 9 with “Skinny Love”, “Zumba He Zumba Ha” is down two places at number 10 for DJ Mam’s in his fourth week in the top 10.
Three songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After five weeks in the top 10, Sexion D’Assaut‘s “Wati House” is down six places at 11. “Party Shaker” also falls six at number 13 for R.I.O. featuring Nicco. After only one week in the top 10, Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen are down five places at number 15 with “Good Time”.
Alex Clare is up 28 places to reach number 12 with “So Close” in his seventh week in the chart (3698 sales). Selena Gomez & The Scene get their peak position this week, as “Love You Like A Love Song” is up three at number 17. Nicki Minaj‘s “Pound The Alarm” is new in the top 20, indeed it climbs six places at number 19 in its 14th week in the chart.
Asaf Avidan & The Mojos are still climbing the chart, this week they are up ten places at 22 with “One Day / Reckoning Song” in their 12th week in the top 200. Thanks probably to the video, Muse‘s “Madness” is back up the chart, from 41 to 30 in its third week in the chart. “Co-Pilot” is up seven at 35 for Kristina Maria featuring Corneille in its 12th week in the chart. Flo Rida is up a massive 69 places with “I Cry” in his second week in the top 200.
Shy’m gets her 10th top 40 hit with “On Se Fout De Nous” which climbs 15 places at number 39 in its third week in the top 200 (1473 sales). “M’En Aller” is new in the top 40 for Canardo featuring Tal, as it’s up 16 at number 40. Basto‘s “I Rave You” is up 12 places from 53 to 41. In her 10th week in the top 200, P!nk finally enters the top 50, as “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” is up eight places at number 44. Céline Dion‘s “Parler A Mon Père” is back in the top 50, as it’s up 9 at number 48 in its 10th week in the chart (1305 sales). It’s only its third week in the top 50, it reached number 32 as a new entry in the week ending 8th July.
M‘s new song “Mojo” is a new entry at number 52. “Lights” is up 20 at number 55 for Ellie Goulding in its sixth week in the chart. Alicia Keys (featuring Nicki Minaj) is new at number 57 with “Girl On Fire”, her highest charting singles in France are “Fallin'” and “No One” which both reached number 5. The famous “Gangnam Style” is a new entry this week at number 97 for Psy.
