No, there won’t be a new entry at the top of the albums chart for the seventh week in a row, as Muse‘s “The 2nd Law” stays at number one in its second week in the top 10 (28334 sales, -68%). It’s the first time that a Muse album is at the top for two weeks, indeed “Absolution” (in September 2003) and “The Resistance” (in September 2009) only had one week at the top.
There is only one new entry in this week’s top 10, and its… a compilation. “NRJ Total Hits 2012 Vol. 2” goes straight to number two with 11008 sales. Garou‘s “Rhythm And Blues” is down one place at three (7454 sales, -26%), the album has sold 29979 copies in its three weeks in the top 10.
C2C‘s “Tetra” doesn’t move at number four in its sixth week in the top 10 (7104 sales, -22%), “Tetra” has sold 65016 copies so far. There is no move also at five for Vincent Niclo & Les Choeurs De L’Armée Rouge with “Opéra Rouge” in their third week in the top 10 (6957 sales, -23%).
“L’Apogée” spends a 30th non-consecutive week in the top 10 for Sexion D’Assaut, as the album is up one place at number six (6739 sales, -2%). In her second week in the top 10, Diana Krall falls four places at seven with “Glad Rag Doll” (5376 sales, -43%).
Lou Doillon‘s debut album “Places” is up two at number eight (4650 sales, -25%), the album has sold 52503 copies in its six weeks in the top 10. Marc Lavoine falls one at nine with “Je Descends Du Singe” in his fifth week in the top 10 (4641 sales, -31%), the album has sold 55495 copies so far. Adele‘s “21” spends its 83rd week in the top 10, as it’s up six places at number 10 (4405 sales, +7%).
Two albums drop out of the top 10 this week. After three weeks in the top 10, “NRJ 200% Hits 2012 Vol. 2” falls five places at number 11. Mika‘s “The Origin Of Love” spent only three weeks in the top 10, as it’s down four at number 13 (4099 sales, -38%), the album has sold 47326 copies so far.
The second new entry of the week is for La Compagnie Créole, their new album “En Bonne Compagnie” enters the chart at number 14 with 4057 sales. Zifou is also new at number 24 with “Zifou 2 Dingue”.
“Sounds That Can’t Be Made” is new at 41 for Marillion. There is also a new entry for Of Monsters And Men, “My Head Is An Animal” is at number 58. Beth Hart goes straight to number 60 with “Bang Bang Boom Boom”.
Ellie Goulding enters the chart at a low number 85 with “Halcyon” (819 sales), but it’s not so bad as her debut album “Lights” hasn’t even reached the top 200.
