Stromae still rules the French singles chart as “Formidable” spends a fifth consecutive week at the top in its 12th week inside the top 10 (10,000 sales / -13%). Martin Garrix stays at number two with “Animals” in his eighth week inside the ten best-sellers (8,300 sales / -6%). Another Dutch DJ, Bakermat is a non-mover at three with “Vandaag” in his fourth week in the top 10 (7,700 sales / +1%).
In its 14th week inside the top 10, “Wake Me Up !” is still at number four for Avicii (7,200 sales / -1%). There is no change at five for a former Number One (for four consecutive weeks in July and August), Stromae‘s “Papaoutai” in its 17th week inside the ten best-sellers (6,500 sales / -6%).
“Game Over” climbs five places at six for Vitaa featuring Maître Gims in its second week on the chart (5,700 sales / +63%). The song is Maître Gims‘ third solo top 10 hit, after “J’Me Tire” (Number One for four weeks in March and April), and “Bella” (number three in June), and the first for Vitaa. But we can notice she was at the top of the albums chart for one week in February 2007 with A Fleur De Toi.
Katy Perry is back up three at number seven with “Roar” in her fifth week inside the ten best-sellers (4,900 sales / +29%). “La La La” moves down two places at eight for Naughty Boy featuring Sam Smith in its third week in the top 10.
The highest new entry of the week goes to Détroit at number nine with “Droit Dans Le Soleil” (4,532 sales). Détroit‘s singer, Bertrand Cantat is no stranger to the top 10 as he was also the singer of Noir Désir, their “Le Vent Nous Portera” reached number three in September 2001.
In its 18th week on the chart, “Summertime Sadness” is up four places at ten for Lana Del Rey & Cedric Gervais. The song is the latter’s first top 10 hit, and the second for Lana Del Rey, after “Video Games” (number two in March 2012).
Three songs drop out of the top 10 this week. John Newman slips two at number eleven with “Love Me Again” in his 13th week inside the top 200. After just one week in the top 10, Birdy‘s “Wings” moves down four places at twelve. “Blurred Lines” falls ten at number 17 for Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell (2,900 sales), the song was Number One for six non-consecutive weeks in June and July, and spent 26 weeks inside the ten best-sellers.
Miley Cyrus is back up three places at 13 with “Wrecking Ball” in her seventh week on the chart (3,500 sales). It’s also a good week for Britney Spears who climbs 13 at number 14 with “Work Bitch” (3,500 sales / +90%), the song entered at six two weeks ago. In its third week in the top 200, “Talk Dirty” moves up ten places at 16 for Jason Derülo featuring 2 Chainz (2,900 sales / +53%). With that song, Jason Derülo gets his second top 20 hit, after “Whatcha Say” which peaked at ten in March 2010. It’s also the second top 20 hit for 2 Chainz as he was a featured artist on Wiz Khalifa‘s “We Own It (Fast & Furious 6)” which reached number nine in June 2013.
Capital Cities climb five at number 18 with “Safe And Sound” in their 12th week on the chart. In its second week inside the 200 best-sellers, “Tsunami” is up a massive 18 places at 20 for DVBBS & Borgeous (2,500 sales). “Come Back To Me” moves up 69 at number 22 for HollySiz in its 17th week on the chart (2,300 sales), HollySiz is in fact the French actress Cécile Cassel.
“Walking On Air” is new at number 25 for Katy Perry (2,100 sales), her “Dark Horse” (featuring Juicy J) is up 50 at number 35 in its third week on the chart (1,600 sales). In her sixth week inside the top 200, Ellie Goulding gets her third top 30 hit as “Burn” climbs seven places at 26. She was number 29 in October 2012 with “Lights”, and number ten in August 2013 as a featured artist on Calvin Harris‘ “I Need Your Love”.
