There is no change at the top of the French albums chart as Stromae spends his eighth non-consecutive week at Number One with Racine Carrée in his ninth week inside the top 10 (33,946 sales / -21%). New debuts at number two for Paul McCartney with 10,321 sales. The new LP is Paul McCartney‘s highest-charting solo album ever ! But we can notice that the first French albums chart was only published in January 1985, and it was a monthly Top 20. New is his third top 10 album in the 21st century, Chaos And Creation In The Backyard reached number three in September 2005, and Kisses On The Bottom entered and peaked at four in February 2012 with 11,563 copies sold.
There is a new entry at number three for the compilation NRJ Hit Music Only 2013 Vol. 2 (8,600 sales). In her second week on the chart, Hélène Segara slips two places at four with Et Si Tu N’Existais Pas (8,544 sales / -19%). Vincent Niclo stays at number five with Luis in his fourth week inside the ten best-sellers (6,713 sales / -4%).
Aventine falls three places at six for Agnes Obel in its third week inside the top 10 (6,600 sales / -31%). Bruno Mars‘ Unorthodox Jukebox slips one at number seven in its 34th week in the top 10 (6,400 sales / =). Recto Verso spends an 11th week inside the ten best-sellers as it climbs ten places at eight for Zaz (6,000 sales), the album reached number two in May.
It’s down five places at nine for the compilation NRJ 200% Hits 2013 Vol. 2 in its fifth week in the top 10. Birdy moves down three at number ten with Fire Within in her fourth week inside the top 10 (5,100 sales / -20%).
Three albums drop out of the top 10 this week. After seven weeks inside the ten best-sellers, Génération Goldman Vol. 2 is down four at number twelve. Rohff falls eleven places at 21 with P.D.R.G. (Pouvoir – Danger – Respect & Game) in his fourth week on the chart (3,393 sales / -39%). Last week’s new entry at number nine, Bangerz moves down to 39 for Miley Cyrus.
In his second week on the chart, Roberto Alagna is up 18 places at eleven with Robertissimo (5,000 sales). Dry gets his highest-charting album as Maintenant Ou Jamais debuts at number 13 (4,800 sales), the new LP is his second top 20 album, Tôt Ou Tard peaked at 18 in February 2012.
Paradise climbs a massive 166 places at number 15 for Dub Inc, it’s their first ever top 20 album, Hors Contrôle reached number 27 in October 2010. Sylvie Vartan enters at 19 with Sylvie In Nashville (3,670 sales), her Toutes Peines Confondues was number 16 in September 2009. Lightning Bolt is new at number 20 for Pearl Jam (3,600 sales), they last reached the top 10 with the album Yield which peaked at six in February 1998.
Fugitives debuts at number 24 for Moriarty, they reached the top 20 twice, with Gee Whiz But This Is A Lonesome Town (number 19 in March 2009), and The Missing Room (number 14 in April 2011). Morcheeba enter at 25 with Head Up High (3,000 sales), their last album Blood Like Lemonade peaked at 13 in June 2010, they also reached number five in May 2005 with The Antidote.
Les Fatals Picards are new at number 28 with Septième Ciel, the new LP is their third top 30 album, Pamplemousse Mécanique was number 24 in February 2007, and Le Sens De La Gravité peaked at 17 in March 2009. This week’s Number One in the U.K., John Newman debuts at 37 with Tribute.
