In its 27th week on the chart (all inside the top four), Stromae‘s Racine Carrée adds another 30,090 sales (-43 % / 1,441,302 in total) to spend a 25th non-consecutive week at the top of the French albums chart. In doing so, the LP owns now the number three position of the longest reigns at Number One, as he has just beaten Andrea Bocelli‘s Romanza which was at the top for 24 weeks from January to August 1997. Only two albums have done better than Racine Carrée, Francis Cabrel‘s Samedi Soir Sur La Terre (29 weeks from April 1994 to February 1995), and D’Eux by Céline Dion (44 weeks from April 1995 to March 1996). The first French albums chart was published in January 1985.
Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories stays at number two in its 18th week inside the ten best-sellers (16,890 sales / -27%). There is no change also at three for Maître Gims with Subliminal in his 29th week in the top 10 (15,600 sales / -28%). In his second week on the chart, Tony Carreira climbs two places at four with Nos Fiançailles, France / Portugal (9,100 sales / -10%).
The compilation NRJ 200% Hits 2014 slips one at number five in its third week inside the top 10 (7,100 sales). It’s also down one place at six for FAUVE‘s Vieux Frères – Partie 1 in its third week inside the ten best-selling albums (6,100 sales / -45%). It’s a good week for Zaz, her Recto Verso moves up three at number seven in its 18th week in the top 10 (6,000 sales / -5%).
In its fourth week inside the top 10, Løve is up one place at eight for Julien Doré, the album debuted and peaked at number four in November (5,000 sales / -22%). Cats On Trees‘ eponymous LP enters the top 10 as it climbs three at number nine in its 18th week on the chart (5,000 sales). Florent Pagny is down three places at ten with Vieillir Avec Toi in his 16th week inside the ten best-sellers.
One album drops out of the top 10 this week. Last week’s new entry at number eight, Le Prince is down to 27 for Mister You (2,200 sales / -76%), his last album MDR 2 had also fallen from ten to number 31 in its second week on the chart in November 2012.
Stromae‘s Cheese moves back up two places at eleven in its 103rd week in the top 250. As their song “Wasting My Young Years” is at two on the singles chart, London Grammar have also a good week with their LP If You Wait which climbs a massive 45 places at twelve in its 24th week on the chart (4,500 sales). If You Wait debuted and peaked at number eleven in September.
Têtes Raides get their fifth top 20 album, as Terriens enters at number 13 (3,890 sales). Qu’est-Ce Qu’on S’Fait Chier ! was number five in September 2003. There are two albums from the Argentinian TV series “Violetta” inside the top 20, the live LP Violetta En Vivo is up three places at 15 in its sixth week inside the 250 best-sellers, and Violetta – Hoy Somos Más jumps from 27 to number 18 in its 21st week on the chart.
A L’infini moves up five places at 16 for Tal in its 25th week in the top 250. Christophe Maé climbs nine at number 17 with Je Veux Du Bonheur in his 37th week on the chart. In its 21st week inside the top 250, Lorde‘s Pure Heroine finally reaches the top 20 as it is up five places at 20.
Ibrahim Maalouf gets his first top 30 album, as Illusions jumps from 37 to number 29 in its 16th week inside the 250 best-sellers, he won a French music award (Victoire de la Musique) for best world music album two weeks ago. In its 13th week on the chart, One Direction‘s Midnight Memories climbs 15 places at 44, the LP entered and peaked at number two in December.
