He’s getting closer and closer… Pharrell Williams spends his 18th non-consecutive week at the top of the French singles chart with “Happy” (10,000 sales / -7%), and by doing so owns the second longest reign at Number One, equalling “Belle” by Garou, Daniel Lavoie & Patrick Fiori (taken from the musical Notre-Dame De Paris) which was at the top from September 1998 to January 1999. Lou Bega‘s “Mambo N°5 (A Little Bit Of)” was Number One for 20 consecutive weeks from August 1999 to January 2000.
But there is a new contender. In its third week inside the top 10, “Stolen Dance” moves up one place at two for Milky Chance (6,000 sales / +15%). It’s down one at number three for Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne with “Rather Be” in their fourth week inside the ten best-sellers (6,000 sales / +5%). There is no change at four for Rebel featuring Sidney Housen with “Black Pearl (He’s A Pirate)” in their third week in the top 10 (5,500 sales / +8%).
“You & Me” enters the top 10 as it jumps from 14 to number five for Disclosure featuring Eliza Doolittle, it’s the first top 10 hit in France for both acts (5,200 sales / +79%). The song is a hit, thanks to the Flume Remix used in the new Lacoste advert. In her 15th week inside the top 10, Indila slips one place at six with “Dernière Danse” (4,500 sales / +2%). London Grammar‘s “Wasting My Young Years” stays at number seven in its seventh week inside the ten best-sellers (4,500 sales / +7%).
“Liar Liar” gets its peak position as it’s up one place at eight for Cris Cab in its third week in the top 10 (4,100 sales / +3%). After a second-week absence, “Changes” is back inside the top 10 as it climbs four at number nine for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau in its 20th week on the chart (4,000 sales). Avicii falls four places at ten with “Addicted To You” in his sixth week in the top 10 (4,000 sales / -7%).
Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After five consecutive weeks inside the ten best-selling songs, “Dark Horse” moves down four at number twelve for Katy Perry featuring Juicy J (3,800 sales / -5%). Klingande‘s “Jubel” falls three places at 13 in its 49th week on the chart (3,400 sales / -11%), the song peaked at number five in March.
As it was sung by a contestant on the TV show “The Voice” last Saturday, OneRepublic‘s “Counting Stars” jumps from 33 to number eleven in its 37th week inside the top 200 (3,900 sales). It reached number seven in February. It’s also a good week for Imagine Dragons, their “Demons” moves up four places at 15 in its 13th week on the chart (3,000 sales). In its eighth week in the top 200, “Tourner Dans Le Vide” climbs three at number 20 for Indila (2,100 sales).
In its seventh week on the chart, Mr. Probz‘s “Waves” is up a massive 28 places at 22 (2,000 sales). Shakira moves up three at number 23 with “Dare (La La La)” in her second week inside the 200 best-sellers (1,950 sales / -7%), will the song be her 14th top 20 hit ? Stay tuned. “Team” is a second top 30 hit in France for Lorde, as it jumps from 32 to number 24 in its 11th week on the chart (1,900 sales).
Jul is back up six places at 25 with “Dans Ma Paranoïa” in his eighth week in the top 200, the song reached number 23 two weeks ago. In its seventh week on the chart, “Come On To Me” climbs twelve places at 27 for Major Lazer featuring Sean Paul, it’s Major Lazer‘s second top 30 hit, and the 13th for Sean Paul. “Turn Down For What” moves up a massive 35 places at 29 for DJ Snake & Lil Jon in its third week inside the top 200, the song is DJ Snake‘s first top 30 hit, and the third for Lil Jon. As a featured artist (with Ludacris), he was Number One for one week in April 2004 with Usher‘s “Yeah”.
In its eighth week on the chart, “All Of Me” climbs ten places at 31 for John Legend, will it be his first top 20 hit next week ? Place your bets. “Say Something” moves back up six at number 32 for A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera in its 14th week in the top 200. Imagine Dragons‘ “Radioactive” jumps from 42 to number 33 in its 58th week on the chart.
“Magic In The Air” is up 13 places at 34 for Magic System featuring Chawki in its third week inside the 200 best-selling songs. It’s a good week for Coldplay, their “Magic” moves back up ten at number 36 in its fifth week on the chart, the song debuted and peaked at six in March. In its fifth week inside the top 200, “My Love” climbs 22 places at 39 for Route 94 featuring Jess Glynne.
