Pharrell Williams is now just one week away from equalling the 20-week reign of Lou Bega‘s “Mambo N°5 (A Little Bit Of)”, as “Happy” spends a 19th non-consecutive week at the top of the French singles chart (9,500 sales / -5%). The first one was published on 4th November 1984.
But he has another new contender with “You & Me” by Disclosure featuring Eliza Doolittle, as the song climbs three places at two in its second week inside the top 10 (6,000 sales / +15%). Its incredible success can be explained by the Flume remix used in the new Lacoste advert. In its fourth week inside the ten best-sellers, “Stolen Dance” slips one at number three for Milky Chance (5,900 sales / -2%).
It’s also down one place at four for Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne with “Rather Be” in their fifth week in the top 10 (5,700 sales / -5%). “Black Pearl (He’s A Pirate)” moves down one at number five for Rebel featuring Sidney Housen in its fourth week inside the top 10 (5,300 sales / -4%).
“Bad” is this week’s highest new entry at number six for David Guetta & Showtek featuring Vassy (4,700 sales). If the song is the first top 10 hit for Vassy and Showtek, it’s the 19th for David Guetta. With “Bad”, producer duo Showtek gets its third top 30 hit, as “Slow Down” peaked at 15 in August 2013, and “Booyah” (featuring We Are Loud ! & Sonny Wilson) reached number 22 in December 2013.
In her 16th week inside the ten best-sellers, Indila is down one place at seven with “Dernière Danse” (4,500 sales / =). London Grammar‘s “Wasting My Young Years” falls one at number eight in its eighth week in the top 10. Cris Cab‘s “Liar Liar” also moves down one place at nine in its fourth week inside the top 10. In his seventh week inside the ten best-selling songs, there is no move at number ten for Avicii with “Addicted To You” (4,000 sales / =).
One song drops out of the top 10 this week. In its 21st week on the chart, “Changes” falls two places at eleven for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau.
Black M is back up three at number 15 with “Mme Pavoshko” in his seventh week inside the top 200. In its eighth week on the chart, “Waves” enters the top 20 as it jumps from 22 to number 17 for Mr. Probz (2,400 sales / +20%).
“Come On To Me” moves up six places at 21 for Major Lazer featuring Sean Paul in its eighth week inside the 200 best-sellers. It’s a very good week for John Legend, as “All Of Me” is his first top 30 hit, the song climbs seven at number 24 in its ninth week on the chart (1,900 sales). In its fourth week in the top 200, “Magic In The Air” is up nine places at 25 for Magic System featuring Chawki (1,900 sales).
The French version of “Let It Go” taken from the Frozen soundtrack (La Reine Des Neiges), Anaïs Delva‘s “Libérée, Délivrée” re-enters at number 32 (1,500 sales). The song had peaked at 35 in January. In his 39th week on the chart, Martin Garrix jumps from 57 to number 33 with “Animals”. “Case Départ” is up 21 places at 34 for Team BS in its 13th week inside the top 200.
Sam Smith gets his second top 40 hit in France, as “Money On My Mind” climbs ten at number 36 in its sixth week on the chart. He reached number six in September 2013 as a featured artist on Naughty Boy‘s “La La La”. In his fifth week inside the 200 best-sellers, Calvin Harris moves up 15 places at 50 with “Summer”, the song is his fifth top 50 hit.
