Week Ending 29th June 2014 / Albums Chart

There is no change at the top of the French albums chart, as La Bande A Renaud stays at Number One for the third consecutive week (20,605 sales / -14%). The LP has sold 98,588 copies in its three weeks on the chart. Compilations are very successful during the summer in France, so it’s not surprising to see the new entry at two of NRJ Summer Hits Only 2014 (14,689 sales).

In its sixth week inside the ten best-sellers, Coldplay‘s Ghost Stories moves back up three places at three (10,547 sales / +0.5%). It’s a good week also for Indila, her Mini World climbs four at number four in its 18th week in the top 10 (8,832 sales / +13%).

Ed Sheeran enters at five with x (8,680 sales). His first album + reached number 44 in April 2012. In its second week on the chart, Destination Fiesta is up one place at six for Collectif Métissé (8,017 sales / +1%). Latin Lovers are new at number seven with 7,880 copies sold. In this album, you can find hits such as “La Camisa Negra” (sung here by Nuno Resende), “Livin’ La Vida Loca” (Julio Iglesias Jr.), and “La Solitudine” (Nyco Lilliu) amongst others.

It’s a bad second week for Lana Del Rey‘s Ultraviolence, the album falls six places at eight (7,591 sales / -63%). Born To Die spent its first eight weeks inside the top five. Yannick Noah moves down four at number nine with Combats Ordinaires in his fourth week in the top 10 (7,284 sales / -33%). In his sixth week inside the ten best-sellers, Black M slips one place at ten with Les Yeux Plus Gros Que Le Monde (5,959 sales / +6%).

Three albums drop out of the top 10 this week. Last week’s new entry at four, Jul is down to eleven with Lacrizeomic. Racine Carrée slips two places at twelve for Stromae in its 45th week on the chart. After just one week inside the top 10, Linkin Park‘s The Hunting Party falls 14 places at 17.

In its sixth week on the chart, Africainement Vôtre is back up eight places at 13 for Magic System. The album debuted and peaked at eleven. Blonde is new at number 20 for Alizée (3,354 sales). Her last LP 5 peaked at number 25 in April 2013 with 3,603 copies sold. She got two top 10 albums, with Gourmandises (Number One for one week in February 2001), and Mes Courants Electriques… (number two in March 2003).

As they performed at the Stade De France last week, Indochine climb a massive 92 places at 22 with Black City Parade in their 72nd week on the chart (2,259 sales). The album spent two consecutive weeks at the top in February 2013.

Once More ‘Round The Sun is Mastodon‘s highest-charting LP in France, as it debuts at number 50. The Hunter peaked at 73 in October 2011. Austin Mahone enters at a low number 85 with The Secret.
