2013 – The First Six Months / Singles Chart

Let’s take a look at the ten best-selling songs in the first six months of 2013.

Unsurprisingly, “Get Lucky” is the best-selling song for Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams with 248,000 sales. In its first week on the chart, the song sold a record-breaking 38,887 downloads ! “Get Lucky” was at the top of the singles chart for seven consecutive weeks from April to June. Eight weeks at number one were not enough for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz with “Thrift Shop”, the song is at two with 181,000 sales.

“Blurred Lines” is number three for Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell with 173,000 copies sold, it spends its fourth consecutive week at the top this week. Bruno Mars“Locked Out Of Heaven” only peaked at three in February but it was inside the ten best-sellers for 18 weeks during the first six months of 2013, that’s why the song is at four with 131,000 sales.

Maître Gims has never been at the top as a member of Sexion D’Assaut, but he was number one for four consecutive weeks in March and April with “J’Me Tire” which is at five with 125,000 copies sold. “Scream & Shout” is number six for will.i.am featuring Britney Spears with 115,000 sales, the song was at the top in the week ending 20th January.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have another song in the top 10, their “Can’t Hold Us” (featuring Ray Dalton) is number seven with 115,000 sales. Even if it was number one in 2012 (for six weeks in November and December), Adele‘s “Skyfall” has been a constant seller, the song is number eight with 114,000 copies sold.

“Stay” is at nine for Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko (114,000 sales), the song spent eleven weeks in the top 10 and was number two for four weeks in February and March. PSY was the first chart-topper of 2013 with “Gangnam Style” which is at ten with 113,000 copies sold.
