2014 – The First Six Months / Singles Chart

As he spent 18 weeks at Number One during the first six months of 2014, it’s not surprising at all to see Pharrell Williams at the top with “Happy” (296,700 sales). Indila‘s “Dernière Danse” is at number two (128,200 sales), the song was never a chart-topper because of “Happy”, but was at two for nine non-consecutive weeks !

That song finally ended the 22-week reign of Pharrell Williams : “Stolen Dance” by Milky Chance is at three with 94,400 sales. Maître Gims was very successful in 2013, and the start of 2014 was not bad for him, as “Zombie” is at number four (79,600 sales).

London Grammar‘s “Wasting My Young Years” was not a big hit until a contender of the TV show “The Voice” sang it, and then it jumped from 83 to number two in February ! The song sold 77,000 copies and is at five. Daft Punk own two songs inside the top 20, at six you can find “Instant Crush” (featuring Julian Casablancas, 71,300 sales), and “Get Lucky” at number 16 (featuring Pharrell Williams, 51,700 sales).

“Rather Be” spent eight weeks inside the top 10 and two of them at number two, the song is at seven for Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne (70,100 sales). Cris Cab‘s “Liar Liar” is at number eight with 65,300 sales.

“Black Pearl (He’s A Pirate)” reached number three in April and May, and is at nine for the first six months of 2014 for Rebel featuring Sidney Housen. OneRepublic‘s “Counting Stars” only spent four weeks inside the ten best-sellers and peaked at number seven in February, but was a regular seller week after week, that’s why you can find it at ten with 60,300 sales.

Klingande‘s “Jubel” is at eleven (58,900 sales), “Sirens Call” by Cats On Trees is at number twelve with 58,000 sales. Mr. Probz was in the top 10 for ten weeks with “Waves”, and is at 13 for the first six months of 2014 with 56,200 sales.

The Flume Remix used in the Lacoste advert was loved by 53,000 people as “You & Me” is at number 14 for Disclosure featuring Eliza Doolittle. It was the first hit in France for both acts. Stromae is obviously inside the top 20, this time with “Tous Les Mêmes” at 15 (52,100 sales).

“Changes” is at number 17 for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau (51,400 sales). The song peaked at nine in March and April. Katy Perry owns one song inside the 20 best-sellers, her “Dark Horse” (featuring Juicy J) is at 18 with 50,800 sales.

You can find at number 19 John Legend with his worldwide hit “All Of Me” (49,300 sales). Lorde‘s “Royals” is at 20 with 47,500 sales, the song was number four in February.

Week Ending 20th April 2014 / Singles Chart

Pharrell Williams has equalled the 20-week reign of Lou Bega‘s “Mambo N°5 (A Little Bit Of)” (from August 1999 to January 2000) as “Happy” is still Number One in its 22nd week on the chart (all of them inside the top 10) with 7,900 sales (-17%). As a featured artist on Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky”, he entered at the top exactly one year ago. In total, Pharrell Williams has spent 34 out of the last 53 weeks at the top of the French singles chart ! It’s amazing. “Get Lucky” was Number One for eight weeks from April to July 2013, and Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines” (with T.I.) was at the top for six weeks in June and July.

In its fifth week inside the top 10, Milky Chance‘s “Stolen Dance” is back up one place at two (6,100 sales / +3%). “Rather Be” also climbs one at number three for Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne in its sixth week inside the ten best-sellers (5,200 sales / -9%). “Black Pearl (He’s A Pirate)” moves back up one place at four for Rebel featuring Sidney Housen in its fifth week in the top 10 (4,900 sales / -8%).

London Grammar‘s “Wasting My Young Years” jumps from eight to number five in its ninth week inside the top 10 (4,200 sales), the song peaked at two in February. Last week’s number two, “You & Me” is down to six for Disclosure featuring Eliza Doolittle in its third week inside the ten best-selling songs (3,800 sales / -37%). There is no move at seven for Indila with “Dernière Danse” in her 17th week in the top 10.

It’s a good week for Avicii, his “Addicted To You” is up two places at eight in its eighth week inside the top 10 (3,700 sales / -8%), the song reached number six three weeks ago. In its fifth week inside the ten best-sellers, Cris Cab‘s “Liar Liar” stays at number nine (3,600 sales). “Changes” climbs one place at ten to spend a third week in the top 10 for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau (3,200 sales).

One song drops out of the top 10 this week. Last week’s new entry at number six, “Bad” moves down to eleven for David Guetta & Showtek featuring Vassy.

French rapper Lacrim (his real name is Karim Zenoud) gets his first top 20 hit, as “Mon Glock Te Mettra A Genoux” is this week’s highest new entry at number twelve (3,100 sales). In her tenth week on the chart, Indila jumps from 19 to number 13 with “Tourner Dans Le Vide”. Will she have two songs in the top 10 next week ? Place your bets.

“Waves” enters the top 15 as the song is up three places at 14 for Mr. Probz in its ninth week inside the top 200. Kyo‘s “Le Graal” moves back up eight at number 15 in its 13th week on the chart, the song was at twelve three weeks ago. In its fifth week inside the 200 best-sellers, “Magic In The Air” climbs eight places at 17 for Magic System featuring Chawki (2,500 sales / +32%). The song is the latter’s first top 20 hit, and the 11th for Magic System, the first one was “1er Gaou” (number four in October 2002).

The French version of Idina Menzel‘s “Let It Go” taken from the Frozen soundtrack (La Reine Des Neiges), Anaïs Delva‘s “Libérée, Délivrée” enters the top 30 in its eighth week on the chart, as it jumps from 32 to number 23 (2,100 sales). In its fourth week inside the top 200, “Five Hours” moves up 37 places at 27 for Deorro. Sam Smith gets closer to the top 30, as his “Money On My Mind” is up four at number 32 in its seventh week on the chart.

Lana Del Rey gets her seventh top 40 hit in France, as “West Coast” is new at 34 (1,400 sales). “Video Games” reached number two in March 2012. In his 11th week inside the 200 best-sellers, Aloe Blacc climbs seven places at 37 with “The Man”. As it was sung by a contestant last Saturday on the TV show “The Voice”, “Mad World” re-enters at number 40 for Michael Andrews featuring Gary Jules, it peaked at 30 in March 2013.

Week Ending 9th March 2014 / Singles Chart

It’s a great week for Pharrell Williams, his new LP G I R L debuts at the top of the albums chart, and his “Happy” doesn’t move to spend a 14th non-consecutive week at Number One on the singles chart in its 16th week inside the top 10 (23,700 sales / +12%), the last song to have sold more copies than “Happy” in a week is… Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” (featuring Pharrell Williams !) with 26,226 sales during the week ending 26th May 2013. “Happy” is also the first song to spend that many weeks at the top since 2005 when Ilona Mitrecey reigned for 15 consecutive weeks from March to June with “Un Monde Parfait”. This week Pharrell Williams owns 10 songs inside the top 100, and 13 in the top 200. Among others, he stays at twelve as a featured artist on Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” in his 47th week on the chart, and enters at 32 with “Gust Of Wind” (featuring Daft Punk, 1,700 sales), and at number 42 with “Marilyn Monroe” (1,200 sales).

“Dernière Danse” is a non-mover at two for Indila in its 11th week inside the ten best-sellers (8,100 sales / -16%). There is no change at number three for London Grammar with “Wasting My Young Years” in their third week in the top 10 (5,900 sales / -39%). In its sixth week inside the top 10, “Instant Crush” stays at four for Daft Punk featuring Julian Casablancas (5,300 sales / -13%). Klingande‘s “Jubel” climbs three places at five in its second week inside the ten best-selling songs (4,400 sales / +16%).

Coldplay get their third top 10 hit in France, as “Magic” debuts at six (4,227 sales). “Viva La Vida” reached number seven in September 2008, and “Paradise” peaked at five in December 2011. It’s down two places at seven for Maître Gims with “Zombie” in his 14th week inside the top 10 (4,100 sales / -16%).

In its second week inside the ten best-sellers, “Dark Horse” moves up one at number eight for Katy Perry featuring Juicy J (4,100 sales / +8%). Avicii also climbs one place at nine with “Addicted To You” in his second week in the top 10. “Sirens Call” falls four at number ten for Cats On Trees in its sixth week inside the top 10.

It spent four weeks at the top of the U.K. singles chart, and it’s also very successful in France : “Rather Be” jumps from 30 to number 13 for Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne in its sixth week inside the top 200 (2,700 sales / +50%). In its 16th week on the chart, “Changes” is up six places at 14 for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau (2,600 sales). Cris Cab‘s “Liar Liar” climbs ten at number 19 in its seventh week inside the 200 best-sellers.

“Stolen Dance” moves up 15 places at 23 for Milky Chance in its ninth week on the chart. In just its second week inside the top 200, “Black Pearl (He’s A Pirate)” climbs a massive 58 places at number 25 for Rebel featuring Sidney Housen.

It’s a very good week for Imagine Dragons, their “Radioactive” is up 30 places at 28 in its 54th week on the chart as it was sung on the TV show “The Voice” last Saturday, and “Demons” is their second top 30 hit, the song jumps from 39 to number 29 in its ninth week inside the 200 best-sellers.

The Shin Sekaï get their second top 50 hit with “Rêver”, the song climbs 14 places at 43 in its eighth week on the chart. As featured artists on Maître Gims‘ “Ça Marche”, they were number 29 in October 2013. “1.2.3” moves up 36 places at number 44 for Team BS in its second week in the top 200.

In its third week on the chart, “Come On To Me” jumps from 55 to number 45 for Major Lazer featuring Sean Paul. Jason Derulo is back up six places at 50 with “Marry Me” in his tenth week inside the 200 best-selling songs.

Week Ending 2nd March 2014 / Singles Chart

There is no big surprise at the top of the French singles chart, as Pharrell Williams spends a 13th non-consecutive week at Number One with “Happy” in his 15th week inside the top 10 (21,200 sales / +35%). The song has to stay at that position for another eight weeks to beat the all-time record of Lou Bega‘s “Mambo N°5 (A Little Bit Of)” which was Number One for 20 consecutive weeks from August 1999 to January 2000. The first French singles chart was published on 4th November 1984. “Happy” is so popular in France that another version by Fly By climbs a massive 50 places at eleven in its second week on the chart (3,000 sales) !

It’s a very good week for Indila, her debut LP Mini World enters at the top of the albums chart, and her “Dernière Danse” is back up one place to spend a seventh week at two in its tenth week inside the ten best-sellers (9,700 sales / +23%). It’s down one at number three for London Grammar with “Wasting My Young Years” in their second week in the top 10 (9,700 sales / +20%).

There is no change at four for Daft Punk featuring Julian Casablancas with “Instant Crush” in their fifth week inside the top 10 (6,100 sales / +9%). Maître Gims stays at number five with “Zombie” in his 13th week inside the ten best-selling songs (4,900 sales / +7%). In its fifth week in the top 10, “Sirens Call” is a non-mover at six for Cats On Trees (4,700 sales / +15%).

“Can’t Remember To Forget You” moves up one place at seven for Shakira featuring Rihanna in its fifth week inside the top 10 (3,800 sales / +15%). In its 44th (!) week on the chart, Klingande‘s “Jubel” finally reaches the top 10, as the song jumps from 17 to number eight (3,800 sales / +52%).

“Dark Horse” is up seven places at nine for Katy Perry featuring Juicy J in its 18th week in the top 200 (3,800 sales / +52%). The song is Juicy J‘s first top 10 hit, and the eighth for Katy Perry. Avicii gets his third top 10 hit, as “Addicted To You” climbs nine at number ten in its tenth week on the chart (3,000 sales). “Wake Me Up !” spends two weeks at the top in August and September 2013, and “Hey Brother” peaked at four in November, December 2013 and January 2014.

Three songs drop out of the top 10 this week. Last week’s number nine, “Drunk In Love” is down to 13 for Beyoncé featuring Jay Z in its 11th week on the chart. Lorde‘s “Royals” falls nine places at 16, the song peaked at number four in February and spent 13 weeks inside the ten best-sellers. After only two weeks in the top 10, “Shot Me Down” moves down twelve at number 22 for David Guetta featuring Skylar Grey (2,200 sales / -24%).

In its 46th week inside the top 200, “Get Lucky” moves back up two places at twelve for Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams. “Changes” enters the top 20 as it climbs three at number 20 for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau in its 15th week on the chart.

As their LP is new at five on the albums chart, Team BS own two songs inside the top 40, “Team BS” is up ten at number 24 in its 17th week in the top 200, and “Case Départ” climbs 25 places at 35 in its seventh week on the chart. “A L’Heure” debuts at number 27 for Kaaris, it’s his second top 30 hit after “S.E.V.R.A.N” (number 26 in February).

In its fifth week on the chart, “Rather Be” moves up 26 places at 30 for Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne (1,800 sales). As it was sung on the TV show “The Voice”, “No Surprises” re-enters at number 31 to give Radiohead their third top 40 hit (1,800 sales), “Creep” peaked at 17 in February 1996, and “Pyramid Song” reached number 19 in May 2001.

Imagine Dragons get their second top 40 hit, as “Demons” jumps from 46 to number 39 in its eighth week inside the 200 best-selling songs, “Radioactive” was number 30 in February. “Nameless World” is Skip The Use‘s second top 50 hit, the song is up nine places at 42 in its seventh week on the chart, their “Ghost” peaked at 24 in June 2012.

Lea Michele is new at number 45 with “On My Way”, it’s her highest-charting song in France. Black M enters at 48 with “Mme Pavoshko”. Like Maître Gims, Black M is a member of Sexion D’Assaut.

There is no change at the top of the French singles chart, as “Happy” spends a 12th non-consecutive week at Number One for Pharrell Williams in its 14th week inside the top 10 (15,700 sales / -5%). The song owns the longest reign at the top since the first combined singles chart (downloads + physical) was published in the week ending 30th January 2011, beating the 11-week reign of Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” (from June to September 2012). The unforgettable “Mignon Mignon” by René La Taupe was the last song to spend at least twelve weeks at Number One, as it was there for 13 consecutive weeks from September to November 2010.

In last week’s chart, London Grammar‘s “Wasting My Young Years” was down 15 places at 83 in its 29th week in the top 200, it had reached number 32 in September and had no real hope to go higher. But… it was sung by contestants of “The Voice” last Saturday, people discovered the song and liked it, and suddenly it moves up a massive 81 places at number two (8,083 sales). Can “Wasting My Young Years” reach the top spot next week ? Place your bets.

The song is the fifth top 10 hit for Jay Z, and Beyoncé‘s sixth, her last one was as a featured artist on Lady Gaga‘s “Telephone” (number three in April 2010). “Shot Me Down” falls four places at ten for David Guetta featuring Skylar Grey in its second week inside the top 10 (2,900 sales / -42%).

Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After 26 weeks inside the ten best-sellers, “Get Lucky” is down four at number 14 for Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams. OneRepublic‘s “Counting Stars” falls eight places at 15, the song peaked at number seven and spent four weeks in the top 10.

In his 31st week inside the top 200, Tom Odell is up nine places at eleven with “Another Love” (2,900 sales). “Photomaton” moves back up six at number twelve for Jabberwocky featuring Elodie Wildstars in its 42nd week on the chart, the song was number two in November and December.

“Dark Horse” climbs eleven places at 16 for Katy Perry featuring Juicy J in its 17th week inside the 200 best-sellers (2,500 sales). The song is the latter’s first top 20 hit, and the ninth for Katy Perry. In its 43rd week on the chart, Klingande‘s “Jubel” reaches a new peak, as it moves up eight at number 17 (2,500 sales). Avicii is up four places at 19 with “Addicted To You” in his ninth week in the top 200.

As it was sung on the TV show “The Voice” last Saturday, “Wrecking Ball” moves back up 19 at number 27 for Miley Cyrus in its 27th week on the chart, it peaked at two in December. In its eighth week inside the top 200, “Say Something” climbs twelve places at 29 for A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera, it’s her 11th top 30 hit (1,500 sales).

In its fifth week on the chart, Cris Cab‘s “Liar Liar” jumps from 40 to number 33. “Le Graal” gets its peak position as it is up eight places at 37 for Kyo in its fifth week inside the 200 best-sellers, the song is their seventh top 40 hit, and the first since… May 2005 when “Sarah” reached number 33.

Milky Chance‘s “Stolen Dance” climbs a massive 24 places at 39 in its seventh week on the chart. John Newman moves back up 21 at number 43 with “Love Me Again” in his 33rd week in the top 200. In its third week on the chart, “You & Me” jumps from 70 to number 44 for Disclosure featuring Eliza Doolittle, the song is the first top 50 hit for both acts.

Pharrell Williams‘ “Happy” stays at Number One and spends an 11th non-consecutive week at that position in its 13th week inside the top 10 (16,600 sales / +14%). There is no change also for Indila at two with “Dernière Danse” in her eighth week inside the ten best-sellers (7,600 sales / -6%).

As they performed the song in the French music awards (Victoires de la Musique) last Friday, Cats On Trees move up five places at number three with “Sirens Call” in their third week in the top 10 (5,500 sales). Maître Gims slips one place at four with “Zombie” in his 11th week inside the ten best-selling songs (5,300 sales / -13%). “Instant Crush” is also down one at number five for Daft Punk featuring Julian Casablancas in its third week inside the top 10 (5,100 sales / +11%).

“Shot Me Down” gets this week’s highest new entry at six for David Guetta featuring Skylar Grey (5,000 sales). “Shot Me Down” is Skylar Grey‘s second top 10 hit, she featured on DiddyDirtyMoney‘s “Coming Home” which peaked at number eight in April 2011. For David Guetta, “Shot Me Down” is his 18th top 10 hit, he reached the top spot twice, with “Gettin’ Over You” (with Chris Willis and featuring Fergie & LMFAO, for one week in June 2010), and “Sweat” (with Snoop Dogg, for two weeks in May 2011).

In its fourth week inside the top 10, OneRepublic‘s “Counting Stars” is back up two places at seven (3,700 sales / +12%). Lorde climbs two at number eight with “Royals” in her 12th week inside the ten best-sellers (3,700 sales / +16%), the song was at four two weeks ago. In its third week in the top 10, “Can’t Remember To Forget You” falls four places at nine for Shakira featuring Rihanna (3,600 sales / -16%). “Get Lucky” also moves down four at number ten for Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams in its 26th week inside the top 10 (3,100 sales / -24%).

One song drops out of the top 10 this week. Last week’s new entry at number seven, Booba is down to 32 with “La Mort Leur Va Si Bien”.

It’s a good week for Stromae after the French music awards (he won three trophies) as he owns four songs inside the top 30. “Formidable” moves back up eight places at eleven, “Tous Les Mêmes” is a non-mover at number 13, “Papaoutai” climbs eight places at 15, and “Ta Fête” jumps from 39 to number 30 in its 21st week on the chart, it’s Stromae‘s fifth top 30 hit.

In its ninth week in the top 200, “Drunk In Love” climbs three places at 14 for Beyoncé featuring Jay Z. Indila gets her third top 20 hit, as “Tourner Dans Le Vide” is new at number 17 (2,500 sales). With Skalpovitch, she featured on Youssoupha‘s “Dreamin'” which peaked at 14 in July 2012.

Avicii also moves up seven at number 23 with “Addicted To You” in his eighth week in the top 200.

French rapper Kaaris enters at 26 with “S.E.V.R.A.N” (1,700 sales), the song is his first top 30 hit, “Sombre” debuted and peaked at number 41 two weeks ago. In its 16th week on the chart, “Dark Horse” is back up five places at 27 for Katy Perry featuring Juicy J.

Another “Victoires” effect : “Come Back To Me” climbs a massive 97 places at 31 for HollySiz in its 36th week inside the top 200, the song was number 22 in October. “Liar Liar” is up 30 places at 40 for Cris Cab in its fourth week inside the 200 best-selling songs.

“You’re Mine” is new at number 47 for Lea Michele (1,100 sales), her “Louder” peaked at 46 in January. It’s a bad second week on the chart for U2‘s “Invisible”, the song falls 40 places at number 51.

Week Ending 9th February 2014 / Singles Chart

In its 12th week on the chart (all inside the top 10), Pharrell Williams‘ “Happy” spends a tenth non-consecutive week at the top of the French singles chart (14,600 sales / -23%). It’s a fifth consecutive week at number two for Indila with “Dernière Danse” in her seventh week inside the ten best-sellers (8,100 sales / -4%).

Maître Gims is back up two places to spend a seventh (!) week at three with “Zombie” in his tenth week in the top 10 (6,100 sales / +7%). “Instant Crush” also climbs two at number four for Daft Punk featuring Julian Casablancas in its second week inside the top 10 (4,600 sales / -16%), the song is the latter’s first top five hit, and the fourth for Daft Punk. “Around The World” peaked at five in May 1997, and “One More Time” (for one week in November 2000) and “Get Lucky” (featuring Pharrell Williams, for eight weeks from April to July 2013) both reached the top.

French people have always loved sexy videos (like in the eighties with Sabrina‘s “Boys”, Guesch Patti‘s “Etienne”, or Lova Moor‘s “Et Je Danse” to give a few examples), and there is no exception with “Can’t Remember To Forget You” which moves up ten at number five for Shakira featuring Rihanna in its second week inside the ten best-sellers (4,300 sales / +59%). In its 25th week in the top 10, “Get Lucky” is down three places at six for Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams (4,100 sales / -47%).

“La Mort Leur Va Si Bien” is this week’s highest new entry at number seven and gives Booba his fourth top 10 hit (3,900 sales), “Parlons Peu” peaked at five in November 2013. In its second week inside the top 10, “Sirens Call” climbs one place at eight for Cats On Trees.

OneRepublic‘s “Counting Stars” slips two at number nine in its third week inside the ten best-selling songs (3,300 sales / -20%). “Royals” falls six places at ten for Lorde in its 11th week in the top 10 (3,200 sales / -48%).

Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After three weeks inside the ten best-sellers, Lily Allen moves down four at number twelve with “Somewhere Only We Know” (3,000 sales / -17%). “Photomaton” falls five places at 15 for Jabberwocky featuring Elodie Wildstars, the song spent nine weeks in the top 10 and reached number two in November and December.

“Invisible” was close to be U2‘s fifth top 10 hit, but it’s “only” their 15th top 20 as the song debuts at eleven (3,100 sales). “Ordinary Love” is not their 16th (yet), it is up six at number 21 in its tenth week on the chart. Tom Odell gets his first top 20 hit as “Another Love” climbs nine places at 20 in its 29th week inside the top 200.

“Emmène-Moi” is Mister You‘s third top 30 hit, the song is new at number 26 (1,800 sales). In its 12th week on the chart, “Changes” jumps from 36 to number 28 for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau. “Wizard” is back up twelve places at 38 for Martin Garrix & Jay Hardway in its eighth week inside the 200 best-sellers, the song peaked at number 31 in December and January.

Stromae climbs four places at 39 with “Ta Fête” in his 20th week on the chart. “Say Something” moves up ten at number 41 for A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera in its sixth week in the top 200, the song is the former’s first top 50 hit, and the 12th for the latter. “Genie In A Bottle” (in October and November 1999), “Hurt” (in January 2007), and “Moves Like Jagger” (as a featured artist with Maroon 5, in September 2011) all peaked at three.

In its ninth week on the chart, Tony Junior‘s “Twerk Anthem” jumps from 62 to number 43. “Infirmière” is new at 46 for FAUVE, the French collective’s LP Vieux Frères – Partie 1 enters at number two on this week’s albums chart.

Week Ending 2nd February 2014 / Singles Chart

There is no change at this week’s French singles chart, as Pharrell Williams spends a ninth non-consecutive week at Number One with “Happy” in his 11th week inside the top 10 (19,000 sales / -7%). In the last 42 weeks, Pharrell Williams has now been Number One for a total of 23 weeks ! He featured on Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” (eight weeks at the top from April to July), and Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines” (featuring T.I., six weeks in June and July). Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” was the last song to spend that many weeks at Number One, it was at the top for eleven non-consecutive weeks from June to September 2012.

In her sixth week inside the ten best-sellers, Indila stays at number two with “Dernière Danse” (8,400 sales / -5%). In its 42nd week on the chart, “Get Lucky” climbs a massive 22 places at three for Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams (7,700 sales / +352%). It’s not very surprising as Daft Punk were the big winners of this year’s Grammy Awards, winning five trophies. Their “Instant Crush” (featuring Julian Casablancas) moves up six places at six in its 27th week in the top 200, the song is Julian Casablancas‘ first top 10 hit, and Daft Punk‘s fifth (5,500 sales / +90%).

Another Grammy winner, Lorde reaches her peak position this week as “Royals” climbs one at number four in its 10th week inside the ten best-sellers (6,100 sales / +45%). “Zombie” is down two places at five for Maître Gims in its ninth week in the top 10 (5,700 sales / +2%).

In its second week in the top 10, OneRepublic‘s “Counting Stars” is up three at number seven (4,100 sales / +21%). Lily Allen slips two places at eight with “Somewhere Only We Know” in her third week inside the top 10 (3,600 sales / -3%).

Cats On Trees get their first top 10 hit with “Sirens Call” which moves up two at number nine in its 29th week on the chart (3,500 sales / +6%). “Photomaton” falls six places at ten for Jabberwocky featuring Elodie Wildstars in its ninth week inside the ten best-selling songs (3,200 sales / -29%).

Three songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After five weeks in the top 10, “Timber” slips two at number eleven for Pitbull featuring Ke$ha. Avicii‘s “Hey Brother” falls five places at twelve in its 19th week on the chart, the song peaked at four. It’s also down five at number 13 for Stromae with “Tous Les Mêmes” (3,000 sales / -17%), you have to come back from the chart dated 2nd June 2013 to find no Stromae‘s songs inside the ten best-sellers.

This year the Grammy Awards were broadcasted live on French TV, and again the next day at 9pm, so it’s not surprising to see “Drunk In Love” climb 18 places at 14 for Beyoncé featuring Jay Z in its seventh week in the top 200 (2,800 sales). The song is Beyoncé‘s eighth top 20 hit, and the sixth for Jay Z.

As the video debuted last week, “Can’t Remember To Forget You” moves back up eleven at number 15 for Shakira featuring Rihanna in its third week on the chart (2,700 sales / +59%). In its 40th week inside the 200 best-sellers, Klingande‘s “Jubel” jumps from 27 to number 20.

A contestant of “The Voice” sang it recently, so “Still Loving You” climbs a massive 42 places at 23 for Scorpions (1,900 sales / +111%). The song was number three in the first French singles chart dated 4th November 1984 behind Cookie Dingler‘s “Femme Libérée”, and the surprising chart-topper (at that time) Peter Et Sloane‘s “Besoin De Rien, Envie De Toi”.

In its 14th week inside the 200 best-sellers, “Dark Horse” moves up 33 places at 25 for Katy Perry featuring Juicy J (1,800 sales). The song is Katy Perry‘s 13th top 30 hit, and the second for Juicy J, he featured on Mike Will Made-It‘s “23” which peaked at 30 in January.

Tom Odell climbs nine at number 29 with “Another Love” in his 28th week on the chart. In their 49th (!) week in the top 200, Imagine Dragons get their first top 30 hit as “Radioactive” jumps from 50 to number 30 (1,600 sales). It’s up 32 places at 36 for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau with “Changes” in their 11th week on the chart.

Kylie Minogue only enters at number 70 with “Into The Blue” (836 sales). Her first hit was in 1988 when “I Should Be So Lucky” peaked at four in June and July. “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” was Number One for one week in November 2001.

Week Ending 12th January 2014 / Singles Chart

This week Pharrell Williams‘ “Happy” has equalled the six-week reign of Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines” in which he’s a featured artist, as the former song stays at the top of the French singles chart in its eighth week inside the top 10 (14,500 sales / =). But Pharrell Williams has to keep an eye on Indila whose “Dernière Danse” climbs another four places at number two in its third week inside the ten best-sellers (6,500 sales / +25%).

In its sixth week in the top 10, “Zombie” is back up five places at three for Maître Gims, he had already spent three consecutive weeks in that position in December (5,600 sales / +10%). So there is no songs from Stromae inside the top three anymore, as “Tous Les Mêmes” slips two at number four in its ninth week inside the top 10 (5,100 sales / -29%), and “Formidable” also moves down two places at five in its 26th week inside the ten best-selling songs (4,600 sales / -27%). But he still owns three songs in the top 10, indeed “Papaoutai” falls five at number ten (3,400 sales / -38%).

Avicii‘s “Hey Brother” is down two places at six in its tenth week in the top 10. Lorde spends an amazing sixth non-consecutive week at number seven with “Royals” in her eighth week inside the ten best-sellers. “Timber” equals its peak position this week, as it moves up one place at eight for Pitbull featuring Ke$ha in its third week inside the top 10 (3,700 sales / -23%). After a two-week absence, “Photomaton” spends a sixth week in the top 10 as it climbs four at number nine for Jabberwocky featuring Elodie Wildstars (3,400 sales).

One song drops out of the top 10 this week. After 23 weeks inside the ten best-selling songs, “Get Lucky” falls 13 places at 23 for Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams (2,000 sales / -56%). The song spent eight non-consecutive weeks at the top of the singles chart from April to July, and is the best-seller for 2013.

Lily Allen gets her highest-charting hit in France, as “Somewhere Only We Know” is up 13 places at twelve in its seventh week on the chart (3,200 sales). “Fuck You” reached number 14 in August 2009. It’s a very good week for Maître Gims, his “Changer” moves back up six places at 14 in its 14th week inside the top 200, the song peaked at nine in December.

In its 25th week on the chart, “Counting Stars” climbs 13 at number 15 for OneRepublic (2,600 sales). The song is their third top 20 hit, “Apologize” was number seven in in February 2008 as Timbaland Presents OneRepublic, and their “All The Right Moves” peaked at 19 in June 2010.

“Sirens Call” is up two places at 17 for Cats On Trees in its 26th week inside the 200 best-sellers. In its ninth week on the chart, Ahzee‘s “Born Again” jumps from number 32 to 20. “Drunk In Love” moves back up five at number 25 for Beyoncé featuring Jay Z in its fourth week inside the top 200, the song reached number 23 two weeks ago.

As he is a new judge on the French version of The Voice which started last Saturday, MIKA climbs a massive 133 places at 28 with “Underwater” in his 44th week on the chart, it peaked at number twelve in July 2013 (1,700 sales). In its 16th week in the top 200, “23” moves back up 19 places at 30 for Mike Will Made-It featuring Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa & Juicy J.

One Direction‘s “Story Of My Life” is up ten at number 31 in its 11th week on the chart, the song was at 22 in November. In her ninth week on the chart, Tal climbs four places at 32 with “Le Passé”. “Sonnentanz” moves up nine at number 33 for Klangkarussell featuring Will Heard in its 24th week inside the 200 best-selling songs.

“Wizard” jumps from 68 to number 37 for Martin Garrix & Jay Hardway in its fourth week in the top 200, it debuted and peaked at 31. “Team BS” is up twenty at number 38 for Fababy, La Fouine, Sultan & Sindy in its tenth week on the chart. U2‘s “Ordinary Love” is back inside the top 40, as it climbs 19 places at 40 in its sixth week in the top 200.

“Happy” spends a fifth non-consecutive week at Number One for Pharrell Williams in its seventh week inside the top 10 (14,500 sales). Will the song equal the six-week reign of Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines” in which he’s featured next week ? Stay tuned.

In its eighth week inside the ten best-sellers, Stromae‘s “Tous Les Mêmes” stays at two (7,200 sales). His “Formidable” is also a non-mover at number three in its 25th week in the top 10 (6,300 sales). Avicii is back up two places at four with “Hey Brother” in his ninth week inside the top 10 (5,700 sales).

Stromae has still three songs in the top five, as “Papaoutai” slips one at number five in its 22nd week inside the ten best-sellers (5,500 sales). In this very static top 10, it’s good to see Indila climbing four places at six with “Dernière Danse” (5,200 sales), can the song reach the top of the singles chart soon ?

In its seventh week in the top 10, Lorde‘s “Royals” spends a fifth non-consecutive week at number seven. It’s down three places at eight for Maître Gims with “Zombie” in his fifth week inside the ten best-sellers (5,100 sales).

“Timber” moves up two at number nine for Pitbull featuring Ke$ha to spend a second week inside the top 10 (4,800 sales), the song was at eight three weeks ago. “Get Lucky” climbs three places at ten for Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams in its 38th week on the chart (4,500 sales). The song is inside the ten best-sellers for the first time since the chart from the week ending 15th September !

Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. It’s down seven at number 15 for Eminem featuring Rihanna with “The Monster”. The song was Number One for three consecutive weeks in November and spent seven weeks inside the top 10. Miley Cyrus also falls seven places at 16 with “Wrecking Ball”, she reached number two in December.

A former chart-topper (for two weeks in August and September), Avicii‘s “Wake Me Up !” is up seven places at eleven in its 29th week on the chart. In its sixth week inside the 200 best-sellers, “Flute” climbs three at number twelve for New World Sound & Thomas Newson, the song was at ten two weeks ago.

In its 25th week on the chart, “Paris-Seychelles” moves up five places at 14 for Julien Doré, it peaked at eleven in November. Cats On Trees get their first top 20 hit, as “Sirens Call” climbs eight at number 19 in its 25th week inside the top 200.

“Blurred Lines” is back inside the top 30, indeed the song is up twelve places at 24 for Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell in its 41st week on the chart (2,700 sales). Lykke Li‘s “I Follow Rivers” is another song which refuses to die, as it climbs seven at number 33 in its 107th week in the top 200 (2,200 sales).

“Le Passé” moves up 22 places at 36 in its eighth week on the chart to give Tal her 10th top 40 hit (2,000 sales), “Le Sens De La Vie” reached number four in March and April 2012. In its 23rd week inside the 200 best-sellers, Birdy‘s “Wings” climbs nine at number 38, the song was her third top 10 hit, peaking at eight in October. “Alors On Danse” is also up nine places at 39 for Stromae in its 106th week in the top 200 (1,900 sales), it was Number One for ten non-consecutive weeks from March to May 2010.
