Pharrell Williams has equalled the 20-week reign of Lou Bega‘s “Mambo N°5 (A Little Bit Of)” (from August 1999 to January 2000) as “Happy” is still Number One in its 22nd week on the chart (all of them inside the top 10) with 7,900 sales (-17%). As a featured artist on Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky”, he entered at the top exactly one year ago. In total, Pharrell Williams has spent 34 out of the last 53 weeks at the top of the French singles chart ! It’s amazing. “Get Lucky” was Number One for eight weeks from April to July 2013, and Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines” (with T.I.) was at the top for six weeks in June and July.
In its fifth week inside the top 10, Milky Chance‘s “Stolen Dance” is back up one place at two (6,100 sales / +3%). “Rather Be” also climbs one at number three for Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne in its sixth week inside the ten best-sellers (5,200 sales / -9%). “Black Pearl (He’s A Pirate)” moves back up one place at four for Rebel featuring Sidney Housen in its fifth week in the top 10 (4,900 sales / -8%).
London Grammar‘s “Wasting My Young Years” jumps from eight to number five in its ninth week inside the top 10 (4,200 sales), the song peaked at two in February. Last week’s number two, “You & Me” is down to six for Disclosure featuring Eliza Doolittle in its third week inside the ten best-selling songs (3,800 sales / -37%). There is no move at seven for Indila with “Dernière Danse” in her 17th week in the top 10.
It’s a good week for Avicii, his “Addicted To You” is up two places at eight in its eighth week inside the top 10 (3,700 sales / -8%), the song reached number six three weeks ago. In its fifth week inside the ten best-sellers, Cris Cab‘s “Liar Liar” stays at number nine (3,600 sales). “Changes” climbs one place at ten to spend a third week in the top 10 for FAUL & Wad Ad vs. Pnau (3,200 sales).
One song drops out of the top 10 this week. Last week’s new entry at number six, “Bad” moves down to eleven for David Guetta & Showtek featuring Vassy.
French rapper Lacrim (his real name is Karim Zenoud) gets his first top 20 hit, as “Mon Glock Te Mettra A Genoux” is this week’s highest new entry at number twelve (3,100 sales). In her tenth week on the chart, Indila jumps from 19 to number 13 with “Tourner Dans Le Vide”. Will she have two songs in the top 10 next week ? Place your bets.
“Waves” enters the top 15 as the song is up three places at 14 for Mr. Probz in its ninth week inside the top 200. Kyo‘s “Le Graal” moves back up eight at number 15 in its 13th week on the chart, the song was at twelve three weeks ago. In its fifth week inside the 200 best-sellers, “Magic In The Air” climbs eight places at 17 for Magic System featuring Chawki (2,500 sales / +32%). The song is the latter’s first top 20 hit, and the 11th for Magic System, the first one was “1er Gaou” (number four in October 2002).
The French version of Idina Menzel‘s “Let It Go” taken from the Frozen soundtrack (La Reine Des Neiges), Anaïs Delva‘s “Libérée, Délivrée” enters the top 30 in its eighth week on the chart, as it jumps from 32 to number 23 (2,100 sales). In its fourth week inside the top 200, “Five Hours” moves up 37 places at 27 for Deorro. Sam Smith gets closer to the top 30, as his “Money On My Mind” is up four at number 32 in its seventh week on the chart.
Lana Del Rey gets her seventh top 40 hit in France, as “West Coast” is new at 34 (1,400 sales). “Video Games” reached number two in March 2012. In his 11th week inside the 200 best-sellers, Aloe Blacc climbs seven places at 37 with “The Man”. As it was sung by a contestant last Saturday on the TV show “The Voice”, “Mad World” re-enters at number 40 for Michael Andrews featuring Gary Jules, it peaked at 30 in March 2013.
