Francis Cabrel‘s In Extremis debuts straight to the top of this week’s French albums chart with… 108,868 copies sold ! It’s not that surprising as it’s his seventh Number One LP, after Sarbacane (for ten weeks from September to November 1989), the hugely successful Samedi Soir Sur La Terre (for 29 weeks from April 1994 to February 1995), Hors Saison (for 14 weeks from April to July 1999), Les Beaux Dégâts (for five weeks in May and June 2004), Des Roses Et Des Orties (for six weeks from April to June 2008), and Vise Le Ciel Ou Bob Dylan Revisité (for two weeks in October and November 2012).
After four non-consecutive weeks at Number One, Louane slips to two with Chambre 12 in her ninth week inside the top 10 (20,963 sales / +26%). The Magic Whip gives Blur their first top 10 LP in France, as it enters at number three with 10,545 sales. Think Tank peaked at eleven in May 2003.
In its 34th week inside the ten best-sellers, Kendji Girac‘s eponymous album moves down two places at four (8,751 sales / +21%). Chaleur Humaine stays at number five for Christine And The Queens in its 19th week in the top 10 (7,335 sales / +11%).
Les Stars Font Leur Cinéma opens at six with 5,797 copies sold. In this album, you can find artists like Tal, M. Pokora, Corneille giving their own versions of songs from famous movies. In his 37th week inside the top 10, Black M is a non-mover at number seven with Les Yeux Plus Gros Que Le Monde (4,800 sales / +7%).
Booba‘s D.U.C. falls four places at eight in its third week inside the ten best-selling LPs (4,400 sales / -34%). The compilation W9 Hits 2015 Vol. 2 climbs two at number nine in its second week on the chart. Soprano is down two places at ten with Cosmopolitanie in his eighth week in the top 10 (4,200 sales / -2%).
Four albums drop out of the top 10 this week. After four consecutive weeks inside the top 10, Selah Sue slips two at number eleven with Reason. Violetta‘s Crecimos Juntos moves down six places at twelve in its second week on the chart. Les Enfoirés fall five at number 15 with Sur La Route Des Enfoirés. Last week’s new entry at three, Somnambules is down to number 18 for Raphaël (3,200 sales / -54%).
As he sang at the final of the TV show “The Voice” on 25th April, Josh Groban jumps from 45 to number 13 with Stages in his second week inside the top 250 (3,600 sales). It’s Josh Groban‘s second top 20 LP in France, after Awake (number five in January 2007). The compilation Planète Rap 2015 is new at 17.
In its 23rd week on the chart, Alain Souchon & Laurent Voulzy‘s self-titled album is up five places at 22. It spent one week at the top last November. As you can now find it on DVD, the soundtrack from the movie La Famille Bélier climbs 16 at number 27 in its 20th week inside the 250 best-sellers.
Je Vous Salis Ma Rue enters at 29 for Kacem Wapalek. Street Réalité is another new entry, at number 33 for Kamikaz (2,300 sales). This year’s winner of the TV show “Nouvelle Star”, Emji debuts at 53 with her eponymous EP which was only released digitally (1,200 sales).
