There is a new entry at the top of the French albums chart this week as the French rappers of IAM debut at number one with Arts Martiens (18,068 CDs and 6,604 downloads for a total of 24,672 copies sold). It’s their second chart-topper, Revoir Un Printemps was at the top for one week in September 2003. IAM‘s last studio album Saison 5 entered and peaked at number two in April 2007.

In fact, we have a brand new top five this week. Maxime Le Forestier enters at two with Le Cadeau (10,640 CDs and 839 downloads for a total of 11,479 copies sold). His last studio album, Restons Amants also reached number two in May 2008. Phoenix get their first top 10 album with Bankrupt! which debuts at number three (5,658 CDs and 4,214 downloads for a total of 9,872 copies sold). Their Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix peaked at 14 in May 2009.

Natasha St-Pier is up 197 places at four with Thérèse – Vivre D’Amour (8,866 CDs and 868 downloads for a total of 9,734 copies sold). On this album, she sings poems of Sainte Thérèse de Lisieux with other artists like Anggun, Les Stentors, Sonia Lacen, Elisa Tovati… Natasha St-Pier was number one on the albums chart for one week in January 2006 with Longueur D’Ondes.

#willpower debuts at five for will.i.am (9,452 sales), it’s his first top 10 album in France, he only peaked at number 89 in September 2007 with Songs About Girls. In their seventh week in the top 10, Les Enfoirés fall four places at six with La Boîte A Musique Des Enfoirés (7,640 sales / -21%), the album has sold 393,872 copies so far.

In his 13th week inside the ten best-sellers, Bruno Mars stays at seven with Unorthodox Jukebox (7,600 sales). It’s down five places at eight for Alex Hepburn with Together Alone in her second week on the chart (7,123 sales / -23%).

The compilation NRJ Spring Hits 2013 is new at nine with 7,100 sales. Frank Michael enters at number ten with Quelques Mots D’Amour (6,974 sales), his last album Romantique peaked at seven in November 2011. Les Couleurs De Ma Vie is Frank Michael‘s highest charting album, it reached number six in November 2006.

Seven albums drop out of the top 10 this week. Last week’s number one, Le Secret is down to number eleven for Lara Fabian in its second week on the chart (6,512 sales / -65%), the album has sold 25,280 copies so far. After four weeks in the top 10, Delta Machine falls six places at twelve for Depeche Mode. The musical Robin Des Bois is also down six at number 14 (5,354 sales / -18%). It’s down eleven places at 16 for Carla Bruni‘s Little French Songs in its fourth week on the chart. The compilation NRJ Hit Music Only 2013 falls nine places at number 18. It’s a bad week for Michael Bublé, his album To Be Loved is down 17 places at 21 in its second week on the chart (3,600 sales / -50%). After just one week inside the ten best-sellers, Axel Tony falls 16 at number 26 with Je Te Ressemble.

In her 32nd week on the chart, P!nk climbs eight places at 13 with The Truth About Love (5,500 sales / +77%). After an eight-week absence, L’Apogée is back inside the top 20 as it’s up seven at number 19 for Sexion D’Assaut.

DNA is new at number 27 for the 2011 winners of the UK X Factor, Little Mix (3,051 sales). In her 65th week inside the top 250, Lana Del Rey is up a massive 56 places at 35 with Born To Die, the album was number one for two weeks in February 2012.
