It’s a third consecutive week at the top of the French albums chart for Christophe Maé with Je Veux Du Bonheur (21,198 sales / -33%) which has sold 156,654 copies in its three weeks on the chart. Random Access Memories is still at two for Daft Punk in its sixth week in the top 10 (17,899 sales / -15%), the album has sold 356,004 copies so far.
It’s summertime, so this week’s highest new entry goes to… a compilation, of course ! NRJ Summer Hits Only 2013 debuts at three (17,800 sales). NRJ Summer Hits Only 2011 spent five weeks at the top, and NRJ Summer Hits Only 2012 was number one for four weeks. Maître Gims sold more copies last week even if Subliminal slips one place at four (14,401 sales / +12%), it has sold around 161,900 in its six weeks in the top 10. It’s also down one at number five for Zaz, her Recto Verso has sold 9,428 copies last week (-8%) and around 149,200 in its eight weeks on the chart.
In their sixth week inside the ten best-sellers, Les Stentors move down one place at six with Une Histoire De France (8,100 sales / -15%). Ma Déclaration slips one at number seven for Jenifer in its fourth week in the top 10 (6,080 sales / -22%), the album has sold 53,571 copies so far. It’s a good week for Bruno Mars, his Unorthodox Jukebox climbs two places at eight in its 21st week inside the top 10 (5,800 sales / +5%).
French rapper Médine gets his first top 10 album as Protest Song is new at nine with 4,977 sales. His highest charting album was Arabian Panther which reached number 18 in November 2008. In his seventh week in the top 10, Emmanuel Moire is down two places at ten with Le Chemin (4,800 sales / -21%).
Two albums drop out of the top 10 this week. The compilation NRJ Hit List 2013 moves down three at number twelve in its fifth week on the chart. After three weeks inside the ten best-sellers, Johnny Hallyday falls seven places at 14 with his live album On Stage.
F*** Me I’m Famous 2013 enters at eleven for David Guetta (4,700 sales), the 2012 edition peaked at number five in July 2012. Anne Etchegoyen Et Le Choeur Aizkoa debut at number 13 with Les Voix Basques (3,600 sales). The compilation Fun Summer Dance 2013 is new at number 16.
Violetta – L’Album De La Saison 1 is a new entry at 17. “Violetta” is an Argentinian TV series. Elodie Frégé is up 177 at number 19 with Amuse-Bouches in her second week on the chart (3,146 sales). She was the winner of Star Academy in 2003, and this new album is her third to reach the top 20, after Elodie Frégé (number four in March 2004) and Le Jeu Des 7 Erreurs (number twelve in September 2006). Her last album La Fille De L’Après-Midi only peaked at 28 in October 2010.
Ice On The Dune is another new entry at number 26 for Empire Of The Sun (2,400 sales). It’s a lot better than their Walking On A Dream which was at 60 in March 2009. Alela Diane gets her second top 40 album as About Farewell debuts at number 31, the other one was To Be Still which peaked at 14 in February 2009.
In its tenth week in the top 250, All The Little Lights gets its peak position as it moves up eleven places at 35 for Passenger. It’s a bad week for Kanye West, his Yeezus falls a massive 33 places at number 45 in its second week on the chart (1,600 sales / -63%). Amon Amarth is new at 67 with Deceiver Of The Gods, the Swedish death metal band’s highest charting album was Twilight Of The Thunder God which reached number 116 in October 2008.
