Week Ending 31st March 2013 / Singles Chart

In this week’s chart, we have a static top three as Maître Gims spends a second week at the top of the French singles chart with “J’Me Tire” in his third week in the top 10 (9,800 sales / -13%). “Thrift Shop” stays at two for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz in its 12th week inside the top 10 (8,800 sales / +2%). There is no change at number three for Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko with “Stay” in their ninth week in the ten best-sellers (5,793 sales / -2%) .

But there are new contenders for the top spot, indeed “Just Give Me A Reason” climbs three places at four for P!nk featuring Nate Ruess in its second week in the top 10 (5,500 sales / +28%). “Just Give Me A Reason” is the first top five hit for Nate Ruess, he was at seven in October 2012 with “We Are Young” as a member of fun.. For P!nk, the song is her third top five hit, I should even write her third number four hit as both “Get The Party Started” (in January 2005) and “So What” (in December 2008) reached that position. It’s also a good week for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton, their song “Can’t Hold Us” is up three at number five in their third week in the top 10 (5,300 sales / +23%). So with “Thrift Shop”, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have two songs inside the top five, Carly Rae Jepsen was the last act to accomplish that feat, during the week ending 23rd September 2012 her “Call Me Maybe” was at two and you could find “Good Time” with Owl City at four.

It’s down two places at six for Bruno Mars with “Locked Out Of Heaven” in his 19th week inside the top 10 (4,544 sales / -21%). “Play Hard” climbs a massive eleven at number seven for David Guetta featuring Ne-Yo & Akon in its seventh week on the chart (4,500 sales / +41%). For David Guetta, the song is his 16th top 10 hit, it’s only the second for Ne-Yo, he reached number two in June and July 2011 with “Give Me Everything” as a featured artist with Pitbull, Afrojack & Nayer. “Play Hard” is Akon‘s 11th top 10 hit but the last one was in November 2010 when “Push Push” as a featured artist with Kat DeLuna was at number nine.

The Lumineers slip two places at eight with “Ho Hey” in their fourth week in the ten best-sellers (4,400 sales / -2%). “When I Was Your Man” is up one at nine for Bruno Mars in its second week inside the top ten (3,709 sales / -5%). In their third week in the top 10, Les Enfoirés fall five at number ten with “Attention Au Départ” (3,700 sales / -29%).

One song drops out of the top ten this week. It’s down two places at eleven for Youssoupha featuring Ayna with “On Se Connaît”, the song has spent four weeks inside the ten best-sellers so far.

Some old songs are back up the singles chart, Rihanna‘s “Diamonds” climbs six places at 13 in its 27th week in the top 200 (3,200 sales / +3%), “Gangnam Style” is up eleven at number 18 for PSY in its 30th week on the chart.

In its first full week of release, “Tombé Sous Le Charme” stays at 14 for Christophe Maé (3,100 sales / -9%). “Happy” is up five places at 16 for C2C featuring Derek Martin in its 30th week on the chart. In his 15th week inside the top 200, Brice Conrad climbs three at number 17 with “Oh La”. M. Pokora is up a massive 26 places at 22 with “Le Jour Qui Se Rêve” which is taken from the musical Robin Des Bois which is new at number three on this week’s albums chart (2,600 sales).

There are two new entries inside the top thirty. Thanks to its hot video, “Blurred Lines” debuts at number 25 for Robin Thicke featuring T.I. + Pharrell (2,400 sales), it’s only his second appearance in the top 200, “Lost Without U” reached number 54 in July 2007. “#thatPOWER” is new at 29 for will.i.am featuring Justin Bieber (2,300 sales), the song is taken from will.i.am‘s new album #willpower which will be released on 22nd April.

Week Ending 24th March 2013 / Singles Chart

There is a new number one on the French singles chart ! Even if he has not achieved that feat so far with Sexion D’Assaut (a number three hit with “Avant Qu’Elle Parte” from January to April 2012), Maître Gims claims the top spot as he is up two places with “J’Me Tire” in his second week on the chart (11,282 sales).

So after eight consecutive weeks at the top, “Thrift Shop” is down to two for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz in its 11th week in the top 10 (8,600 sales). But the good news is that their “Can’t Hold Us” (featuring Ray Dalton) is up one at number eight in its second week inside the top 10 (4,300 sales). “Stay” slips one place at three for Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko in its eighth week in the top 10 (5,913 sales).

Bruno Mars doesn’t move at four with “Locked Out Of Heaven” in his 18th week in the top 10 (5,735 sales). As predicted, he has another song inside the ten best-sellers as “When I Was Your Man” climbs three places at ten in its eighth week on the chart (3,920 sales). “Attention Au Départ” is also up three at five for Les Enfoirés in its second week in the top 10 (5,200 sales), the song is their second top five hit, after “Le Temps Qui Court” which reached number four in May 2006.

There is no move at six for The Lumineers with “Ho Hey” in their third week in the top 10 (4,500 sales). In its eighth week in the top 200, “Just Give Me A Reason” moves up ten at number seven for P!nk featuring Nate Ruess (4,300 sales). It’s his second top ten hit after “We Are Young” (as a member of fun., featuring Janelle Monáe) which was number seven in October 2012. For P!nk, the song is only her third, after “Get The Party Started” (in January 2005) and “So What” (in December 2008) which both reached number four. “On Se Connaît” reaches its peak position this week as it’s up one place at nine for Youssoupha featuring Ayna in its fourth week in the top 10 (4,000 sales).

Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After 24 consecutive weeks inside the ten best-sellers, Adele is down six places at eleven with “Skyfall” which was at the top for six weeks in November and December (3,900 sales). Baauer slips five at number 12 with “Harlem Shake”, the song spent only four weeks in the top 10.

“Dusty Men” climbs 14 places at 13 for Saule featuring Charlie Winston in its 17th week on the chart (3,600 sales), it’s Saule‘s first top 20 hit and Charlie Winston‘s third, indeed “Like A Hobo” was at the top during the week ending 12th April 2009 with 5,407 physical sales, and “In Your Hands” reached number nine in September 2009.

Christophe Maé debuts at number 14 with “Tombé Sous Le Charme”. In only two days (the song was released on 23th March), it sold 3,408 downloads. Christophe Maé had two number ones, with “On S’Attache” (for one week in May 2007), and “Dingue, Dingue, Dingue” (for three weeks in January and February 2010).

Justin Timberlake is up 18 at number 16 with “Mirrors” in his sixth week inside the top 200 (3,291 sales), the song entered and peaked at 15. It’s up a massive 180 places at number 18 for David Guetta featuring Ne-Yo & Akon with “Play Hard” in their sixth week on the chart (3,200 sales). Akon had not been in the top 20 since November 2010 when “Push Push” (as a featured artist, with Kat DeLuna) reached number nine.

Week Ending 17th March 2013 / Singles Chart

“Thrift Shop” still rules the French singles chart for the eighth consecutive week for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz in its 10th week in the top 10. It has been the longest reign (in terms of consecutive weeks) at the top since “Somebody That I Used To Know” was number one for nine weeks in April and May 2012 for Gotye featuring Kimbra. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have now another song inside the top 10, indeed their “Can’t Hold Us” (featuring Ray Dalton) is up four places at nine in its 10th week in the top 200. There is no change at number two for Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko with “Stay” in their seventh week inside the top 10.

“J’Me Tire” is the highest new entry of the week at number three for Maître Gims. He reached number 33 in August 2012 as a featured artist on Dry‘s “Ma Mélodie”. As a member of Sexion D’Assaut, he had three top ten hits in 2012, with “Avant Qu’Elle Parte” (number three from January to April), “Ma Direction” (number five in May), and “Wati House” (number four in August).

Bruno Mars is back up two places at four with “Locked Out Of Heaven” in his 17th week in the top 10. He may have two songs in next week’s top 10 as “When I Was Your Man” climbs seven at number 13 in its seventh week on the chart. In her 24th week inside the ten best-sellers, Adele slips one place at five with “Skyfall”.

“Ho Hey” reaches its peak position this week, it’s up two at number six for The Lumineers in its second week in the top 10. Baauer‘s “Harlem Shake” is down two at seven in its fourth week inside the top 10. In their 13th week on the chart, Les Enfoirés climb ten at number eight with “Attention Au Départ” which is their fourth top ten hit, after “Le Temps Qui Court” (number four in May 2006), “On Demande Pas La Lune” (number eight in March 2011), and “Encore Un Autre Hiver” (number ten in March 2012). “On Se Connaît” stays at ten for Youssoupha featuring Ayna in its third week in the top 10.

Three songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After 16 weeks inside the top 10, “Scream & Shout” is down two at number eleven for will.i.am featuring Britney Spears, the song was at the top during the week ending 20th January. Mylène Farmer falls 42 places at 45 with “Je Te Dis Tout” in her third week on the chart. Last week’s highest new entry at number seven, “C’Est Bon” by The Supermen Lovers featuring Herr Styler & Cristine is… out of the top 200.

“Just Give Me A Reason” is up ten places at 17 for P!nk featuring Nate Ruess in its seventh week on the chart, it’s P!nk‘s eighth top 20 hit and the second for Nate Ruess, the first one being obviously as a member of fun. with “We Are Young” (featuring Janelle Monáe) which reached number seven in October 2012. With the Google Chrome ad, Irma‘s “I Know” is back into the top 20 as it climbs seven places at 18 in its 43rd week in the top 200, the song was at number two in February 2012.

Taylor Swift gets her third top 20 hit in France with “I Knew You Were Trouble.” which is up three at number 19 in its 13th week in the top 200. Maxime Nucci re-enters the chart at number 25 with “Talk To Me” which is taken from the soundtrack of the movie Les Petits Mouchoirs. “Tourner La Page” is up 14 places at 26 for Zaho in its eighth week on the chart, she reached number two in April 2008 with “C’Est Chelou”.

“Thrift Shop” is for the seventh consecutive week the best-selling song in France for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz in its ninth week in the top 10 (11,700 sales / -2%). “Stay” is back up a place to spend a third week at number two for Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko in its sixth week inside the top 10 (7,684 sales / -6%).

It’s not her 14th number one but thanks to its physical release, “Je Te Dis Tout” is up a massive 55 places at three to give Mylène Farmer her 44th top 10 hit (7,200 sales) ! The first one was in October 1986 when “Libertine” reached number ten, for your information the number one that week was “Holiday Rap” by M.C. Miker ‘G’ & Deejay Sven…

In her 23rd week in the top 10, Adele slips two places at four with “Skyfall” (6,500 sales / -24%). Baauer is down a place at number five with “Harlem Shake” in his third week in the top 10 (6,500 sales / +8%). It’s also down one at number six for Bruno Mars with “Locked Out Of Heaven” in his 16th week inside the top 10 (5,396 sales / -7%).

For the third consecutive week, we have a surprising new entry in the top 10 and this week it’s “C’Est Bon” by The Supermen Lovers featuring Herr Styler & Cristine at number seven (5,200 sales). The Supermen Lovers are not strangers to the top 10, indeed “Starlight” (featuring Mani Hoffman) was number two in June 2001 behind MC Solaar‘s “Hasta La Vista”.

The Lumineers enter the top 10 as “Ho Hey” climbs four places at eight in its 16th week on the chart (5,000 sales). In its 16th week inside the top 10, “Scream & Shout” falls two at number nine for will.i.am featuring Britney Spears (4,300 sales / -19%). “On Se Connaît” is back up one place at ten for Youssoupha featuring Ayna in its second week in the top 10 (4,100 sales).

Four songs drop out of the top 10 this week. After 24 weeks in the top 10, Asaf Avidan & The Mojos fall three places at eleven with “One Day / Reckoning Song” (4,100 sales / -15%). PSY‘s “Gangnam Style” is also down three at number 12 (4,000 sales / -17%), the song spent 23 weeks inside the top 10 and was at the top for six non-consecutive weeks from October to January. “Get Up (Rattle)” slips four places at 14 for Bingo Players featuring Far*East Movement in its tenth week on the chart. Last week’s surprising highest new entry at six, “Leeway” by We Were Evergreen is… out of the top 200 ! Week Ending 24th February 2013 / Singles Chart

It’s a fifth consecutive week at the top of the French singles chart for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz with “Thrift Shop” in their seventh week in the top 10. There is also no change at number two for Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko with “Stay” which spends its fourth week inside the top 10 (8,532 sales / -10%).

TV promo helped Bruno Mars to get his highest hit single, indeed “Locked Out Of Heaven” climbs four places at three in its 14th week in the top 10 (6,207 sales / +5%). In her 21st week in the top 10, Adele stays at number four with “Skyfall”. It’s down two places at five for will.i.am featuring Britney Spears with “Scream & Shout” in their 14th week in the top 10.

As the album An Awesome Wave has just been certified gold in France, Alt-J gets the highest new entry of the week at six with “Matilda”, it’s the band’s first hit. Asaf Avidan & The Mojos slip two at number seven with “One Day / Reckoning Song” in their 23rd week in the top 10. PSY is also down two places at eight with “Gangnam Style” in his 22nd week inside the top 10.

It’s not surprising at all to see Baauer climbing 25 places at nine with “Harlem Shake” in his second week on the chart. Will he reach the top spot in the future ? Stay tuned. “On Se Connaît” is also new in the top 10 as it’s up four at ten for Youssoupha featuring Ayna in its 10th week in the top 200. “On Se Connaît” is the first top 10 hit for both artists, Youssoupha reached number 14 in July 2012 with “Dreamin'” (featuring Indila & Skalpovitch).

Three songs drop out of the top 10 this week. “Get Up (Rattle)” is down three at number 11 for Bingo Players featuring Far*East Movement, the song spent three weeks in the top 10 and reached number eight. After 21 weeks in the top 10, Rihanna slips three places at 13 with “Diamonds” which was number one for three consecutive weeks in September and October (3,643 sales / -21%). It’s down seven at 16 for Birdy with “People Help The People” which reached number seven in January and spent six weeks inside the top 10 (3,259 sales / -29%).

Sung by a candidate from the TV show “The Voice”, “Say It Ain’t So Joe” re-enters at number 18 for Murray Head. The song was released in 1975 and reached number 102 in July 2012. “Say It Ain’t So Joe” is Murray Head‘s second top 20 hit after… “One Night In Bangkok” which was number two in March 1985, behind Al Corley‘s “Square Rooms”.

“Attention Au Départ” is up a massive 40 places at 20 for Les Enfoirés in its 10th week on the chart, they were number ten in March last year with “Encore Un Autre Hiver”. “Beau Malheur” is new at number 25 for Emmanuel Moire, the song is his eighth top 30 hit, he reached number three in April and May 2005 with “Je Fais De Toi Mon Essentiel” which was taken from the musical “Le Roi Soleil”.

In its fourth week on the chart, “Heaven” is back up 99 places at 27 for Depeche Mode thanks to the release of the physical single, the song is only at 164 in the downloads. Bruno Mars climbs 43 at number 28 with “When I Was Your Man” in his fourth week inside the top 200 (1,911 sales). “Can’t Hold Us” is up 39 places at 29 for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton in its seventh week on the chart.

“Love Me” is another big climber as it’s up 37 at number 30 for Lil Wayne featuring Drake & Future in its third week in the top 200. “Love Me” is Lil Wayne‘s fifth top 30 hit, Drake‘s fourth, and Future‘s first. “My Number” is the first top 40 hit for Foals as it climbs 52 at number 38 in its third week on the chart. “Troublemaker” is up a massive 77 places at number 41 for Olly Murs featuring Flo Rida in its eighth week inside the top 200, the song is Olly Murs‘ first top 50 hit in France.

Week Ending 27th January 2013 / Singles Chart

In its third week in the top 10, “Thrift Shop” takes the top spot of the French singles chart as it climbs three places for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz (around 9,700 sales). After just one week at the top, “Scream & Shout” is down to number two for will.i.am featuring Britney Spears in its 10th week in the top 10 (around 8,700 sales).

Thanks to the physical sales (he’s only at eight in the downloads), PSY stays at three with “Gangnam Style” in his 18th week in the top 10. Bruno Mars is back up one at number four with “Locked Out Of Heaven” in his 10th week in the top 10 (around 7,700 sales). In its 19th week in the top 10, it’s also up one place at five for Asaf Avidan & The Mojos with “One Day / Reckoning Song” (around 7,700 sales). After 16 consecutive weeks in the top five, Adele falls four at number six with “Skyfall”.

The highest new entry is at seven for Booba with “A.C. Milan” (around 6,700 sales), it’s his second top 10 hit, “Caramel” reached number ten in September 2012. In its 18th week on the chart (all inside the top 10), Rihanna‘s “Diamonds” slips one at number eight (around 6,600 sales).

In her 10th week in the top 10, Emeli Sandé is up one place at nine with “Read All About It (Pt. III)” (around 4,500 sales). As it was sung by a candidate in the TV show “Nouvelle Star”, “Nightcall” climbs ten at number ten for Kavinsky (around 4,400 sales). It’s the song’s second week in the top 10, it also reached number 10 in the week ending 19th February 2012 !

Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. “WatiBigAli” is down five places at 14 for Big Ali featuring Wati B. After only one week in the top 10, “Suit & Tie” falls a massive 31 places from eight to number 39 for Justin Timberlake featuring Jay-Z.

Bingo Players are up two at 11 with “Get Up” in their fourth week on the chart (around 4,400 sales). In its sixth week in the top 200, it’s up six places at 15 for Youssoupha featuring Ayna with “On Se Connaît” (around 3,300 sales).

As the singles chart registers sales from Monday to Sunday, we can already notice changes provoked by the “NRJ Music Awards” which were on TF1 on 26th January. “Girl On Fire” is back up six at number 16 for Alicia Keys featuring Nicki Minaj (around 3,200 sales), the song reached number five in November. Carly Rae Jepsen climbs eleven places at 24 with “Call Me Maybe” (around 2,100 sales), she was at the top for 11 non-consecutive weeks from June to September 2012. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” gets its peak position as it’s up 18 places at 41 for Taylor Swift (around 1,400 sales). Emeli Sandé is back up 87 at number 43 with “Next To Me” (around 1,400 sales), the song was number 18 in July 2012.

In their 10th week on the chart, The Lumineers are up eleven places at 23 with “Ho Hey”. It’s also for a good week for Anthony Hamilton & Elayna Boynton with “Freedom”, the song taken from the movie “Django Unchained” climbs 12 at number 28 in its second week on the chart.

“Les Contraires” is new at 34 for Zazie (around 1,600 sales), it’s taken from her new album “Cyclo” which will be released on 18th March. Solange is also new at number 38 with “Losing You” (around 1,500 sales), it’s her second top 40 hit after “I Decided” which reached number 28 in November 2008.
